Most of us have very busy minds and a thousand things to think about. Which is why it is crucial for our well-being to give rest to our minds with daily shots of being truly at peace with ourselves and our world. Raja Yoga is a simple method to rise above our chattering mind and find that peace. Every day. It helps us know and experience who we really are inside – separate from the many different roles we play and the labels we are given. We call it ‘soul consciousness’.

To create non-violence in my world I can begin by creating peace in my own being.

One of the most powerful ways to soothe the angst and troubles and frustrations of our daily lives is to just sit and listen to music that has been created with peace.

Music invites me into a realm of simplicity.

It invites me into a realm of the heart.

So just for these few moments I enjoy the peace of the music I am listening to.

I allow it to wash over my mind.

I allow it to enter every muscle,

Every cell and completely release all the tensions I hold inside.

Like a magic carpet I allow music to carry me into the sanctuary of my own being.

And when I cultivate this peace it is easy to deal with the frustrations of the daily world in a non-violent,

Non-judgmental,

Non-critical way.

It is easy to be more loving,

More open,

More relaxed and more my true self.

Today I choose to allow music to heal my mind and relax my spirit.

Today I choose to just simply listen to either beautiful instrumental music or music that uplifts my spirits and inspires me to reach out to the world.

Today I will stay in this beautiful peace and be thankful for the gift of music.
