The power to tolerate has also been called the power of love.
When I find that I am overwhelmed by challenges,
Whether it's an illness of the body,
Whether I've been betrayed by a dear friend,
Or whether I am undergoing challenges at work,
One of the things that I can do to increase my ability to endure these things is to take time to nurture my heart.
That may mean that I go out for a nature walk that I write in my journal,
But it also means that I take time to go on an inner vacation and visit the sanctuary of my own heart.
I take a few moments right now to slow down my thinking,
To release all the tensions in the body and just relax.
And I begin to sense my inner being inside the body,
Separate from flesh and bone.
Right now I emerge the feeling of love.
I just simply emerge the feeling of love.
And I allow that gentle feeling to nurture my mind.
And when I focus on love inside myself,
Love grows and this love heals me and it provides strength to walk the journey of life.
One of the things that also nurtures the heart is to know that there is a supreme loving being that is always with me,
That is always offering guidance,
Always offering support.
And oftentimes those challenges that come my way will be a gift because they send me deeper into that relationship with my own being and into that relationship with the supreme being.
When all the supports around me are shaking and the challenges are intense,
If I take time to nurture my heart,
If I take time to create a space for stillness and to develop my relationship with that supreme being,
I will find an enormous amount of power and potential inside of me.
And instead of challenges breaking me,
I will allow them to guide me back to my own heart where true strength lies.
