This guided meditation is intended to be a standing and moving practice. It begins with grounding and then walks you through a process to create a sacred space within and around you, inspired by the rites of the Munay-Ki. The meditation ends with a Qigong movement, accompanied by the healing sounds of the gong, to help you release stressful energy, leaving you grounded, protected, and clear.

Welcome!

This is intended to be a standing and moving meditation.

If you prefer to be seated or lying down,

You can always move with your imagination.

Let's begin by facing south.

It's wonderful to go barefoot so you can feel the ground or floor beneath your feet.

Wiggle your toes.

Relax your jaw and shoulders.

Soften your knees as you take three cleansing breaths.

As you listen to the strikes of the gong,

Relax and sink your awareness into your belly and then down into your feet.

Answer the gong's invitation to connect your body to the earth.

Yourself.

You You are about to create sacred space within and around you following in the footsteps of your ancestors Who lived close to nature?

As you stand relaxed facing south place your hands over your pubic bone This is where you are most deeply rooted and is home to your inner serpent Imagine yourself gently wrapped in coils of light Feel yourself shed the past as easily as a snake sheds its skin Imagine yourself walking softly on the earth in the beauty way Turn to your right so you are now facing west Place your hands over your belly home to mother jaguar Ask her to protect your medicine space inside and out Draw upon her strength to follow the way of peace and to live in peace Invite her to show you the way beyond death Once again turn to your right so you are now facing north Place your hands over your solar plexus Create your inner hummingbird,

Your grandmothers,

Grandfathers,

And the ancient ones Listen to them whisper their wisdom to you in the wind Honor those who have come before you and those who will come after Turn again to your right so you are facing east the direction of the rising sun Place your hands over your heart as you greet your inner eagle Take flight as your eagle shows you the mountains you only dare to dream of Feel the freedom as you fly wing to wing with the great spirit Now turn to face the direction where you feel most comfortable Let your hands come down to your sides as you greet mother earth beneath your feet Feel your connection to all of her children the stone people,

The plant people,

The four-legged,

The two-legged,

And the creepy crawlies,

The finned,

The furred,

And the winged ones All your relations Finally raise your hands above your head to greet father sun,

Grandmother moon,

And the star nations Feel your connection to the great spirit who is known by a thousand names and remains unnameable Give your thanks for being alive and able to sing and dance the song of life If it feels right,

Twirl in a circle or give a full body shimmy Now that you are grounded and protected,

It's the perfect time to release all of the stressful energy that you may have been carrying around Some of this energy is yours,

Past regrets or worries about the future Some of this is collective angst None of it is helpful for you moving forward So let it go Slowly begin to turn from your hips and waist,

Side to side Let your arms dangle Relax your knees,

Shift your weight from left to right,

And sink your energy down into the earth Allow your hands to lightly knock across your kidneys and lower abdomen as you move Soften your gaze,

Giving your eyes a chance to scan the horizon In Qigong,

This movement is called knocking on the door of life To close,

Invite the sounds of the gong to help you release the energy that is no longer serving you Take a few minutes to feel it wash through your fingers and toes and back to the earth Feel your chest expand as you grow lighter and lighter Let your body begin to feel the energy that is in your body Let your body begin to feel the energy that is in your body Let your body begin to feel the energy that is in your body Let your body begin to feel the energy that is in your body Let your body begin to feel the energy that is in your body Let your body begin to feel the energy that is in your body Let your body begin to feel the energy that is in your body Gently come back to center Allow your body to wiggle and rock a bit as you come back to your breath Take three cleansing breaths in through your nose,

Out through your mouth Notice the changes in your body and mind Smile and know that you are loved GONG
