Hori Bina Tera is Indiajiva’s musical setting of the sacred words: Har bin tero ko na sahāī “Without the Divine, no one is your lasting support.” These words come from a shabad, or sacred hymn, by Guru Tegh Bahadur, the ninth Sikh Guru, preserved in Raag Saarang in the Guru Granth Sahib. The shabad reflects on the impermanence of worldly possessions, identity and attachment. Everything we call our own eventually passes away; the Divine alone is our enduring refuge. The words appearing in this video are a poetic English interpretation of that message: Apart from the Eternal, what can truly remain with you? All that we call our own passes like a dream. The Divine alone is our lasting refuge. From the Indiajiva album Universal Mother. Music performed and recorded by Indiajiva, sung by Vicki Hansen, Mey (turkish wind instrument), played by Kim Sanders Listen with stillness, reflection and an open heart.
