Nam Myoho Renge Kyo This chant is the king of the sutras,

Flawless in letter and principle,

And allows the individual to tap life's inherent Buddha nature directly.

One can in the present moment gain the power and wisdom to live confidently and overcome trouble,

Immediately redirecting one's life towards a more desirable future.

All the benefits of the Lotus Sutra can be realized by chanting the six syllables Nam Myoho Renge Kyo The essence of the Lotus Sutra declares that all living beings have the potential to attain Buddhahood.

Inside each of us is the Buddha nature,

Which when awakened,

Enables one to attain a state called enlightenment,

Which is possible in a single lifetime.

Nam derives from Sanskrit,

Means to take refuge in the Buddha,

So it is submitting oneself to Myoho Renge Kyo,

The other three words,

Which has Japanese pronunciation and comes from the Chinese title of the Lotus Sutra.

Myoho literally means the Mystic Law,

And is the essential principle of the universe.

Renge means the Lotus Flower,

A symbol for simultaneous cause and effect.

Kyo means Sutra,

The teaching of the Buddha.
