Welcome.
This is a practice of connecting to our breath.
It also involves a short breathing exercise of counting our breath.
But firstly,
Finding a position that's going to be most comfortable for your body in this moment.
Once you're there,
Lowering your gaze,
Softening on a point in front of you,
Or perhaps closing your eyes entirely.
Allowing your attention,
Your awareness to come to rest on your body.
Feeling the position that your body is in.
Noticing the weight of your body against the surface that you're resting on.
And now finding your breath.
Feeling the movements of the breath as it moves in and out of your body.
Noticing each inhale and each exhale.
Where is your breath landing in this moment?
With this awareness on the breath,
We're going to move into the short breathing exercise called take five.
So choosing one palm,
Turning it up to the ceiling.
So with a loosely open palm,
We're going to be taking five breaths on our own time,
In our own rhythm.
Each time you finish an inhale and exhale cycle,
Folding one finger into the center of your palm.
Once you've finished your five breaths,
You can release the counting,
Opening up your hands.
So when you're ready,
Beginning with your first inhale.
When you finished releasing the counting,
Opening up your hands,
And staying with your breath for a few more moments.
Now releasing the focus on the breath.
Slowly,
When you're ready,
Coming back to your space.
