This meditation is to awaken and balance your chakras.
Chakras are simply energy centres in the body and when we balance them,
Harmony is restored in our mind,
Body and nervous system.
So with eyes closed,
Just notice your breath coming in and going out.
Notice your body resting on whatever support you have underneath you and the earth underneath that.
And we'll start with the root chakra.
So bringing your focus to the base of your spine,
To the pelvic bowl.
And here is the root chakra.
The colour of the root is red.
So you might imagine a red light around that area or perhaps a flower.
And if you notice that the light is a little bit dim or if you're visualising a flower,
If the flower's bud is quite closed,
That may mean that this chakra is a little bit blocked.
So see if you can just visualise brightening up the light or opening the flower a little bit.
The element of this chakra is earth and it's connected to grounding and protection,
Also to home,
Finances and survival.
Feeling safe and secure as a child.
Things we can do in the everyday to help open this chakra are walking in nature and being near trees.
So feeling nice and rooted like the roots of a tree.
So moving up a couple of inches now to the sacral chakra and this chakra is just underneath the belly button.
It also goes through to the back.
So just a couple of inches up the spine,
All the chakras go from front to back.
And the colour of this chakra is orange.
So just see if you can picture an orange light or perhaps a flower or any other images that come to mind and maybe start to brighten that light up or open the flower up a little bit.
If it's feeling dim or quite tight like a bud,
The flower.
The element of this chakra is water and so it's connected to the moon and the tides.
It represents the flow of emotions.
So if you're a bit up and down emotionally,
It may be quite blocked.
And to help open this chakra,
You can spend time near water or do anything active that flows like dance or yoga.
Moving to the solar plexus chakra now,
Which is just above the belly button and through to the back.
The colour of the solar plexus is yellow.
So you might picture a beautiful yellow light,
A bit like sunshine or a flower and just notice how bright or dim that light might be.
The element of the solar plexus is fire and this is the power chakra.
So it's linked with ego and confidence.
If it's blocked,
It can lead to burnout,
Adrenal burnout.
It's associated with the shadow side.
So when we shine a light on our shadow,
We become more integrated.
And to help balance this chakra,
You can say affirmations about confidence and personal power.
Also honouring this circadian rhythm can really help.
So lots of sunshine outside in the morning and winding down artificial lights or phones in the evening before sleep.
Coming to the heart chakra now,
So right in the centre of the chest and the colour of this chakra is green.
Some people see it as pink as well,
Which is fine.
So just noticing that image or light and seeing if you need to brighten the light up a little bit.
The element of the heart chakra is air and it's the rainbow bridge between the three upper chakras and the three lower,
Between soul and personality.
It has the biggest electromagnetic field of them all.
And this chakra is linked to balance and equilibrium,
Self-love,
Forgiveness and relationships.
It's also associated with grief.
If you've lost someone,
It may feel quite blocked.
To help balance and open this chakra,
Being kind to yourself is the main thing that you can do.
So self-love or self-care practices that you might have.
Moving now to the throat chakra,
Right at the base of the throat in that little dip between your collarbones.
The colour here is blue.
So perhaps seeing a lovely blue light,
Almost like water or the ocean.
Perhaps it's a flower.
The element here is ether,
So consciousness,
The etheric body or our soul body.
And this chakra is the centre of communication and expression,
Also of purification.
If it's blocked,
You may have trouble expressing yourself.
And things that you can do to help balance the chakra are sound healing,
OM baths or chanting and singing.
Now the third eye chakra,
Which is just in between the eyebrows in the centre of the forehead.
The colour of this chakra is indigo.
So seeing if any light or images might come to mind there.
And the element of this is light.
It's linked to intuition,
To insight,
And it's also connected to dreams.
If it's blocked,
You might feel delusional or be quite judgmental.
When we unblock it,
We have clarity of thought and strengthened intuition.
Meditation and visualization can really help to open this chakra.
So what you're doing now is great.
And finally,
We come to the crown chakra,
Right in the centre of the top of your head,
The crown of your head.
This is sometimes referred to as the a thousand petaled lotus and the colour here is violet or white.
The element of this chakra is space or cosmos.
And it's the chakra of infinite universal energy.
It's linked to awareness,
Wisdom and intelligence.
If it's blocked,
You can feel quite disconnected or isolated,
Perhaps stagnant,
Or maybe suffer from mental health issues.
When it's balanced,
We can experience profound joy and wisdom and feel deeply connected to the divine or a higher power.
Again,
To help balance this chakra,
Meditation is brilliant,
Especially meditation on gratitude or any other spiritual practices that you like to do.
Trying to find moments of silence so you can listen to your inner wisdom.
And now just to make sure that all of the chakras are balanced and that we feel safe to come out of the practice,
Safe to be in the outer world.
We'll just bring our focus slowly down from the top to the bottom.
So just focusing on that crown chakra still and then coming slowly down towards the third eye.
And if that light feels very,
Very bright,
Maybe just dim it or close the petals of the flower just a little bit.
And this is just going to help to balance all the way down before we come out of the practice.
And then going to the throat,
The blue base of the throat.
Followed by the heart now,
Beautiful green,
Maybe tinged with pink around the center of your chest.
Moving down to the solar plexus,
That yellow just above your belly button.
Sacral chakra underneath your belly button,
That beautiful,
Vibrant orange.
And we finish with our root at the base of the spine,
That lovely red grounding.
And it's interesting just to notice which ones were feeling more open or closed for you today.
And this will be slightly different every time that you do a chakra meditation.
So now to finish,
We'll bring our focus back to that root chakra and to our feet or whatever is in contact with the support underneath you and the earth underneath that.
So feeling this beautiful balance throughout your body and throughout your energy system.
And just opening your eyes when you're ready.
