Join world-renowned psychotherapist Esther Perel for a quiet, honest check-in on the quality of your attention. She traces the invisible thread between presence, desire, and purpose, and shows why all three live in the body, not the mind. A short, grounding invitation to come back to yourself.

How do you know that you've lost your presence?

And how do you reclaim it?

So let's just first do a little check-in,

Right?

You wake up,

You take a moment to open your eyes,

To look around,

To notice the room,

To notice if there is someone next to you,

How they're doing,

Or this is the first thing that you do,

You grab your phone.

And for many of us at this moment,

The last thing that we hold and we stroke and we touch before we go to bed is our phone,

And the first thing that we hold and embrace in the morning is our phone,

Not ourselves,

Not someone else.

So leave the phone for a moment and just notice waking up.

Any morning that you wake up and you are not in pain and you're not attending someone else,

Then it's a very good day,

By the way.

Then,

From there,

What is the quality of your attention during the day?

Are you listening to a song fully?

Do you listen to the end?

Do you find yourself suddenly in the middle of a conversation and the last ten minutes you didn't listen to anything?

Do you space out,

But not in the form of daydream,

But space out,

Like there but not present?

And when you are there but not present,

You don't have a sense of purpose.

There is a connection between desire,

Presence and purpose,

Between being in a space that becomes a place that becomes a presence.

They all connect to each other and they are intensely physical.

They are embodied experiences.

They are sensations,

They are feelings and they are thoughts.

And all of these are embodied experiences.
