Vimalasara (Valerie) Mason-John is the author of Detox Your Heart, Meditations for Emotional Trauma. She is trained by Dr Gabor Mate in Compassionate Inquiry CI, and works as a CI therapist, Mindfulness Practitioner, as well as a Recovery and Life Coach. She is the co-founder of the free recovery program Eight Step Recovery, based on the book, and co- founder of the online program, and 8 week program Mindfulness Based Addiction Recovery. Ordained into the Triratna Buddhist Lineage, she has dedicated her life to the uplift of those suffering. She is an international public speaker and trainer in the field of Mindfulness approaches for addiction.

I listened to this meditation for the second time today. The first time was a few years ago when I truly began this journey. This experience was completely different: like a conversation with a trusted friend. I was able to see how far I’ve come by how I related to the meditation and self inquiries this time around. I cried. I released so much anger and resentment I’ve been carrying with me for decades. I placed my innate self back into my heart, remembering who I am at the core of my being with such tenderness and longing. I can be me again. I can be free. I have found peace. Even if just for a moment. Thank you. Much love always.
