Welcome to your supportive body oiling practice.
Find a warm and comfortable space for this practice.
If you'd like,
You can warm your oil a bit by placing the bottle in a mug of hot water for about 5 minutes before you begin.
Stand with feet shoulder width apart,
Feeling them firm against the ground.
Gently rest your palms over your heart as you take three centering breaths.
Imagining your breath traveling from your feet all the way to the top of your head as you inhale through your nose and back down again as you exhale through your mouth.
In and out and out.
Giving yourself permission to take this time to care for your one wild and precious body.
Infusing this moment of self-connection with compassion,
Tenderness,
And intention.
As I guide you in this practice,
Move at your own pace,
Starting wherever you feel most comfortable.
Perhaps your heart or your arms,
Continuing until you feel the practice is complete.
This could be your whole body or just a small area,
But trust when you feel complete.
Taking another deep centering breath,
Begin to oil your body.
Inviting in curiosity and tenderness.
Does your body prefer a slow massaging motion or maybe a featherlight brushing motion?
What pace and pressure allows you to open to receiving this deep care and appreciation today?
As you slowly explore what feels most supportive in your body at this moment,
Allow yourself to bring your awareness to the sensation of your hands and the oil as they move over you,
Nourishing each and every area they touch.
Can you rest in appreciation for the thousands of complex functions happening beneath your fingers and within your body to support your health and functioning at this very moment?
Can you feel your heart open to the miracle of this body?
These feet that have carried you through your entire life,
Hands that have created,
Arms that have held.
Rest in this precious space where you are safe to feel love,
Appreciation and awe for the miracle of this body that has been with you since your very first breath.
Stay in this practice for as long as you need.
When you are finished,
I invite you to close by again just gently resting your hands over your heart and thanking yourself for this time of self-connection.
