Shine.
Why do you hide your light?
So many people do.
You say you do not matter.
You say,
Who am I to be the light of the world?
Only God can say that.
But God put that light in you,
Didn't he?
And I hear you saying to yourself,
I will stand out too much if my light is bright.
I will attract too much attention.
I might get hurt or bullied or ridiculed.
Why take a chance?
Let me just dim down,
Play it safe,
And not draw attention.
Life may seem much safer that way,
But guess what?
It is a slow death of the Spirit.
People become like dead men walking,
No light in them.
Yes,
No risk,
But no reward either.
Dimming down serves no one,
And it hurts everyone,
Including America.
Dimming down keeps your little corner of our country in the dark.
People around you cannot be nurtured by your light if it does not shine.
Many of them will dim even more by seeing you dim.
Pretty soon your house is dark.
Your neighborhood is dark.
Your community is dark.
And our country,
Dark.
Darkness perpetuates itself.
But guess what?
So does light.
Light like darkness is contagious.
America needs a new epidemic,
An epidemic of light.
Can you sign up for that?
Let us get all people to sign up for light.
Everyone can be the light our country needs.
And when that happens,
Watch out,
World.
Are you willing to shine even brighter?
