In honor of Martin Luther King Jr.
Day,
This session is going to focus on love and forgiveness.
And I'm going to start with a quote by Dr.
Martin Luther King.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness.
Only light can do that.
Hate cannot drive out hate.
Only love can do that.
So with that said,
Get comfortable.
Close your eyes.
And let's begin.
We're going to take three deep breaths.
So inhale through your nose.
Exhale through your mouth.
Inhale through your nose.
And exhale through your mouth.
Again,
Inhale through your nose.
And exhale through your mouth.
So the next quote I'm going to share with you is actually from RuPaul.
Yes,
RuPaul.
And this is what it says.
If you can't love yourself,
How the hell are you going to love somebody else?
I'm going to repeat that.
If you can't love yourself,
How the hell are you going to love somebody else?
So we're going to start with focusing on loving ourselves in this next meditation.
So eyes closed.
Draw your attention.
To the point right in the center of your forehead between both eyes.
Once you find that spot.
Breathe in.
And breathe out.
Breathe in.
And breathe out.
Breathe in.
And breathe out.
With your attention,
Focus right to the center of your forehead,
Right between your eyes.
You're going to say you're going to breathe in love.
Exhale light.
Breathe in love.
And exhale light.
Again.
With each inhale.
Breathe in love.
With each exhale,
Exhale light.
Do that for a few more breaths.
Breathe in love.
Exhale light.
Breathe in love.
Exhale light.
Now with your attention still focused in the center of your head,
I want you to imagine a ball of golden light.
You can see the light getting bigger as you inhale love.
And you exhale light.
Inhale love.
Exhale light.
Now see the light growing.
It's now covering your entire head.
And the light is moving down your throat.
Now when the light gets to the base of your throat,
Bring your attention to your throat.
Inhale love.
Exhale light.
Inhale love.
Exhale light.
And the light is spreading from your throat,
Across your chest,
Down both arms,
Through the tips of your fingers.
Your head,
Your throat,
Your chest,
Your arms are covered and surrounded by this golden light.
And with each inhalation,
You're breathing in love.
And with each exhalation,
You're exhaling light.
Breathe in love.
Exhale light.
Now the light is continuing to move down your body,
Past your chest,
Down your torso,
Right at your belly button.
Now bring your attention right to your belly button.
Breathe in love.
Exhale light.
Breathe in love.
Exhale light.
And the light is continuing to move down both legs.
It's slowly covering your thighs,
Your knees,
Your legs,
Your feet,
All of your toes.
Your entire body is surrounded by this golden light.
You can feel the warmth of the light.
You see the glow from the light.
The light is very comforting and you are continuing to breathe in love and exhale light.
Breathe in love and exhale light.
And from this place,
Surrounded by love and light,
You know that you are capable of loving any and everything.
You are surrounded by love.
You are supported by love.
The light nourishes you.
The love nourishes you.
And from this place of support and nourishment,
You know that all things are possible.
Forgiveness is possible.
Love is possible.
There is nothing you can't do.
You love yourself.
You love others.
All love surrounds you.
You are strengthened by love.
You're continuing to breathe.
Breathe in love.
Exhale light.
Breathe in love.
Exhale light.
The final quote I'm going to share with you is from Dr.
Martin Luther King.
We must develop and maintain the capacity to forgive.
He who is devoid of the power to forgive is devoid of the power to love.
There is some good in the worst of us and some evil in the best of us.
When we discover this,
We are less prone to hate our enemies.
Again,
Darkness cannot drive out darkness.
Only light can do that.
Hate cannot drive out hate.
Only love can do that.
Dr.
Martin Luther King Jr.
Breathe in love.
Exhale light.
Breathe in love.
Exhale light.
Slowly.
Open your eyes.
And spend the rest of your day breathing in love and exhaling light.
Namaste.
