This Gayatri Mantra is chanted by Craig Pruess and Andrew McKellar, and has a very powerful effect when chanted every day, and simply playing a recording of any one of these three Gayatri chants in the background will infuse the home/office/work/rest environments with sattvic energy. Remember: the earth (bhur), the planets (bhuvah), and the galaxies (swah) are moving at a very great velocity; the big, all-pervading sound produced is “Om” (the name of the formless God). That God (tat), who manifests Himself in the form of light of suns (savi-tur), is worthy of bowing/respect (varenyam). We all, therefore, should meditate (dheemahi) upon the light (bhargo) of that deity (devasya) and also do daily chanting of “Om” — may He (yo) guide us in the right direction (prachodayat) for our (nah) intellect (dhiyo) to know.
