Om Nama Shivaya
by Craig Pruess
This is a magnificent recording of “Om Nama Shivaya” with 450 devotees of the Art of Living, led by Craig Pruess (lead vocal), with everyone in a deep state of meditation. The sheer power and expansiveness of the sound created by all these singers was due to a week of pranayama practice and the divine breathing technique called “Sudarshan Kriya”, brought to the world by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. The core meaning of this Sanskrit chant is a salutation and surrender to Lord Shiva, the Supreme Consciousness and the inner Self. It is not just a mantra of devotion, but it is a mantra of self-realisation. Chanting this mantra helps to purify and balance the five elements in the body and mind. On this special recording, the sound design, production, instruments, arrangement, and sound engineering are by Craig Pruess.
