“Dear God” is a sacred song and prayer born from a collaboration between two dear friends. I invited my soul brother and multi-talented artist, Darius Bashar to explore what it would be like weaving our art forms (his guided meditations and my songwriting). Darius spoke the opening words, “Dear God, can you hold my hand?” straight from his daily practice of prayer. I took that seed of inspiration and brought to life a musical journey to accompany the beautiful prayer. What followed was something neither of us planned, but both of us deeply felt. This song is not just music—it’s a meditation, a conversation, and a return to something greater. Let it be a space where you can lay down your burdens, reconnect with your inner truth, and remember that you’re never alone. This is a prayer for the uncertain moments, a musical hand to hold when you need it most.
