Hi,
My name is Chloe Bean LMFT and I'm going to guide us through a short exercise that will help ground you using the voice and the breath.
It's a somatic experiencing technique called the VU.
So this will help if you're feeling anxious,
Dysregulated,
Or outside of your body.
It can help kind of bring you back to center.
So I'm going to invite you to come into a comfortable seat,
Feeling the support.
Wherever you are,
Where your body's making contact with the surface underneath you.
And I'm going to just explain the process and then we'll do it together.
And I'm going to actually play a sound bowl as well,
Just to add to the support.
And you can orient to the sound if that feels extra grounding.
So we're going to inhale.
And exhale,
Just normal breath.
And then we'll take another one.
And on that exhale,
We'll do the vu together.
So again,
This isn't about sounding perfect or anything.
It's just noticing how this feels to your body and what shifts afterwards.
So starting the inhale and exhale.
And then we'll start here.
And just curious about what you're noticing inside.
Might be some warmth or tingling.
Notice how your breath is.
After that,
How your first inhale is.
And we'll do that again.
Taking a normal breath in and out.
And on the next one,
We'll do that together.
And if you'd like to continue this on your own.
You're welcome to do so.
Again,
Some people feel more,
Some people feel less with this,
But everything's.
.
.
Okay,
Right,
This everything is allowed,
Right?
We're just practicing staying curious.
All right.
So as a reminder,
This is a tool that you can come back to when you're feeling anxious or overwhelmed.
And I hope you have a good rest of your day.
Thank you for joining
