
Meditation For Grief

This gentle, guided meditation takes you to a space free from time and obligations. Processing grief can bring a rollercoaster of emotions. This meditation allows you to be safely supported while asking the questions you've longed to ask. Whether it be the passing of a situation or person that brings grief into your life today, allow this safe and sacred space to carry you to calm, supported reflection.

Hi,
This is Chell King,
Your guide today to help you through this meditation around grief.
If you're listening to this,
Then chances are at the moment you're experiencing some type of grief within your life,
Whether it's due to somebody passing who was close to you,
Or just grief in your life which can come up from numerous different things,
Including at the moment the current state of the world and the changes that we're all experiencing in our lives.
An important thing to note about grief is that it comes and goes in waves often,
And it's okay to have those moments where you don't feel incredibly sad,
As well as those moments when life can seem totally unbearable.
Often there is a guilt associated with those moments when we're allowing ourselves to live and find joy in life,
Particularly when we've lost someone really dear to us.
It can be shameful sometimes.
We feel guilt because there's a sense within us that we should be feeling miserable for missing them.
And it's okay,
You're allowed to feel these wonderful moments as well as those dark times where you really truly miss them or you really truly feel alone.
But you're not alone.
We're never alone in this world,
We're always supported,
Which is another reason that you have found this recording.
So I invite you now to just settle into your space,
Making sure that you're not listening to this while driving or operating heavy machinery or doing anything that would be distracting for you to get the most benefit from this practice.
Just settling into your space,
Whether you're sitting up or laying down,
Just finding yourself a comfortable position for you today.
You begin by taking a couple of nice deep breaths through your nose and out your nose,
Just allowing the chest to rise and fall.
Going deep now into your belly and on your exhales,
Just allowing your body to soften.
Allowing yourself this space,
This time,
Just entirely for your own comfort,
Your own healing.
Just allowing your shoulders to relax away from your ears.
Allowing any itch or tickle that needs to be scratched or adjusted.
Just do that now,
There's no pressure on how you are sitting or laying.
With your eyes gently closed,
Just relaxing into this space and feeling the support beneath your body,
Whatever you were laying on or sitting on,
Just sensing into that connection and that support there,
Feeling the safety,
Security and comfort around you,
Beneath you.
As you bring your awareness now to the base of your spine,
Just breathing into that energy centre,
Allowing a light to grow,
Emanating outwards.
This light brings a calming,
Soothing balm over your body.
As you gently breathe in with ease,
Just allowing this light to flow from the base of your spine back up,
Up through your lower back,
Shoulder blades,
Up through the back of your neck,
All the way up to the top of your head to your crown.
Just allowing it to roll down your body,
Flowing down over your face,
Relaxing the muscles around your eyes and your forehead,
Relaxing your cheeks and jaw,
Letting this light-filled energy just roll down your chest and shoulders,
Down your torso and down your arms,
Just softening,
Relaxing,
Comforting your entire body.
As this light rolls down now from that spot at the base of your spine,
Down through your hips and thighs,
Down through your knees,
Shins and calves,
Letting it roll through your ankles and feet.
Take another nice deep breath in,
Just sighing out any tension that remains in your exhale with ease.
You are safe and supported in this space today,
Supported by the earth beneath you.
Breathe in again,
Just allowing your senses to go beneath the ground beneath you,
Into the earth,
The cool or warmth of the soil in the ground beneath you,
Breathing easy,
Calm,
Safe and supported.
Realising that deep connection to the earth,
The nurturing,
Calming energy that flows in from this space up into your body in this room.
Opening yourself now in a void entirely outside of time,
Outside of space.
Your physical body is still connected to this earth energy and deeply supported here.
As you allow your energy,
Your being to flow into this new,
Safe,
Sacred space,
This time before time,
This space is entirely your own,
Perfect for you.
It's not super bright here and it is not dark,
It is the perfect lightness for you.
There is the right amount of space for your comfort,
A blank space,
Somewhere where you can create or relax in the nothingness.
As you breathe in to this calming,
Supportive space,
You begin to get a sense of other supports around you.
An energy comes in that feels familiar,
Perhaps it's a guide or somebody who has passed from the earth experience into another one,
Able to visit your own safe space here today.
Any good can come into this space,
Only what you allow.
Sense into these other energies around you,
Begin to take on colours,
Perhaps there's a deep,
Radiant blue or a bright violet,
Calming,
Soothing yellow or a soft pink tone,
Cool greens and these beautiful energies.
Slowly mingle with your surroundings in this safe,
Comforting space outside of time.
If there is somebody in particular that you would like to call into this space as a support,
You can do that now,
Call them forward.
They are here with you to offer you guidance,
To offer their love and to let you know that you are seen and it is okay what you're going through.
The human experience is also experiencing grief,
It is also about experiencing love and joy and beauty and it's okay to experience these things while you are still grieving for somebody or for a situation past.
Whatever you're feeling or sensing right now is perfect for you right here in the right place on your path.
Just allowing yourself to feel,
To sense into these other beings,
Friends,
Comrades,
Guides,
Maybe they have a message for you,
Something that you've been loaning to hear for a very long time.
Just allowing yourself to listen,
To be open.
Listen to what they have to say to you today.
Remembering that you can come back to this place whenever you choose,
To speak with your guides,
Your favourite past loved ones,
The potential energy of things past or future or present.
Whatever it is within this vacant yet potential filled creative space,
You can access it always because this space lives within you.
When you come back to your physical body shortly from now,
You bring back with you some of the light and beautiful energy from this space.
You have created a connection with this beautiful time beyond time,
A safe,
Comforting place you can visit whenever you wish.
So you begin to sense some of the energy,
Some of the colours,
Just allowing them to roll through your body from that spot at the base of your spine.
Telling you with compassion for yourself and others,
An openness to the human experience,
Softness and allowing for vulnerability,
For joy as well as sadness.
You're safe and supported here.
Allowing this light and these colours to flow again up your spine,
Flowing through your energy,
Up through your back and shoulder blades and up your neck and head,
Relaxing your brow,
Cheeks and jaw,
Flowing back through you,
Down your arms and through your wrists and hands,
Down through your chest and shoulders,
Through your torso,
Bringing life back through your pelvis,
Your hips,
Your thighs,
Knees,
Calves,
Rolling your ankles a little bit,
Flexing your feet and when you're ready just gently blinking your eyes open and coming back to your space.
Thank you for taking part in this journey today and for showing up for yourself during this difficult time.
Remember that this practice is always open to you to listen to again or to visit in your own meditations.
You are far more supported than you may realise.
