Connect With The Earth - Be Held And Supported

This twelve-minute meditation is a powerful practice that can help you create or deepen a connection with the Earth. We start with some gentle awareness of our breath and body. Then, we journey to the core of our planet, and allow in the protection and support that is available to you at all times.

Transcript

Today I'll invite you to start by settling into a comfortable position,

Either sitting or lying down,

And start to notice your breath.

You don't need to change anything,

You don't need to do anything special.

Just notice what is already happening in your body.

Notice your inhale,

Feel the air running through your nostrils,

And your exhale,

Feeling the warmth of your breath as it leaves your body.

And as you continue to breathe in and out,

I'll invite you to notice any areas of tension in your body.

And if you notice any areas of tension,

Constriction,

Tightness,

You can bring your breath to those areas.

You might move your neck back and forth,

Roll your shoulders,

Invite some movement into your hips,

Maybe flex your legs and your toes.

And any of those areas that are experiencing tension.

Again,

Bring your breath to those areas and each time you exhale,

Let a little bit of that tension release.

And now I'd like you to focus on the movement of breath through your body,

And you can visualize this movement of breath as a ball of light moving up and down your spine.

And as you breathe up,

You can visualize this ball of light moving from your roots up through your body and out through the crown of your head.

And as you exhale,

You can see this ball of light,

Your awareness,

Moving back down through your body to your roots.

Take a few more cycles of breath this way.

Really sinking into this awareness,

This movement happening through your body right now.

And on your next exhale,

At the bottom of your exhale,

I want you to visualize this ball of light,

Your awareness and moving down through your roots,

Through your feet deep into the earth below you.

Into the soil,

Past the mycelial networks,

Even deeper through layers of rock and crystal,

Going even deeper into the earth,

Where rock becomes molten,

Where there is movement and turbulence and renewal,

Even deeper into the very core of our planet.

Notice how this connection feels in your body.

The core of the earth,

Our planet generates a magnetic field that protects us every second of every day.

We're protected from radiation from the sun.

This magnetic field holds our atmosphere allowing us to breathe,

Allowing us to interact with the plants and animals and oceans,

Mountains that we interact with every day.

And here I'll invite you to take a few minutes to really feel this connection to see if there's any messages that the earth has for you today.

Just allow yourself to be here to be held in the presence of our planet.

You might hear messages,

You might feel something.

You might just feel a sense of peace,

Whatever is coming up for you now just allow it to be.

If you're feeling a sense of peace or stillness or being held,

I'll invite you to really bask in that and to allow that to deepen even more.

Here in your connection with the earth,

You are held,

You are safe,

You are supported.

Now I'll invite you to place a hand on your heart and if you're feeling a sense of gratitude to send that gratitude deep into the earth.

Thank her for loving you,

For supporting you,

For providing for all of your needs.

If you're not feeling a sense of gratitude in this moment,

That's okay too.

Whatever you're feeling just allow it to be.

Allow that feeling to be shared with the earth right now.

Whatever you're feeling is okay,

Is welcome.

And now I'll invite you to focus back on your breath and on your body.

Take a couple more breaths here with the earth.

And on your inhales,

Imagine this ball of light moving upwards,

Upwards,

Upwards.

Back in through your feet to your root,

Up through your body.

Invite all of your awareness,

All of your presence back into your body right now.

As we start to come to a close,

I'll invite you to get a little bit of movement into your body again.

You might want to wiggle your fingers and your toes,

Maybe sway gently side to side.

Whatever breath or movement feels supportive to you right now,

Let that flow through you.

Here,

Take a couple more deep breaths.

Thank yourself for showing up today.

Remember that the earth is here to support you any and every time that you want to connect with her.

She is always here for you.

Thank you for your practice.

I hope you go about the rest of your day with a little bit more gentleness and patience and ease.
