Transcript

Welcome to this last quarter moon meditation for release and renewal.

Begin by taking a seat or lying down and gently close your eyes.

As you settle into your space take several deep cleansing breaths.

Inhale slowly through your nose filling your lungs completely and then exhale through the mouth releasing any tension or stress.

Take two more breaths just like that in through the nose and out through the mouth allowing the body to soften with each exhale.

Take one more deep cleansing breath and feel yourself let go and relax on that exhale.

Now allow the rhythm of your breathing to become regulated pulling air through the nose,

Your throat,

Your sides and eventually your belly.

As you exhale let your belly soften back until all your air is out and your body has relaxed.

As we steady the pace of our breathing we can also steady the rhythm of our minds.

Relax.

Allow yourself this time to be fully present.

Now direct your attention to the last quarter moon in the sky.

It's half illuminated surface reminds you that it is a time for balance between light and darkness and a time for letting go.

Allow this phase of the moon to inspire you to release what no longer serves your highest good.

As you continue to breathe deeply start to think back on the last few weeks,

The growth,

The challenges and the achievements.

Acknowledge each experience for its contribution to your journey.

With gratitude begin to reflect on any heaviness that you are ready to release.

In your mind's eye visualize a tree.

Each leaf on this tree symbolizes some heaviness or burden that you are ready to release.

With each inhale you take leaves begin falling from the tree one after another and as you exhale these leaves are carried away on a breeze.

As you watch these leaves drift away repeat to yourself I release what no longer serves me.

I release what no longer serves me.

Feel each release as a weight lifted from your shoulders making you feel lighter,

More free and with each breath let go a little more.

Allow yourself to feel the relief and the spaciousness that comes from releasing these burdens.

Now begin to tune inwards and ask yourself what you need to let go of internally.

Are there any self-limiting beliefs,

Fears or self-doubts that are holding you back?

And imagine each of these as more leaves falling from your tree carried away by the breeze.

One by one let them go.

With each release affirm your commitment to renewal and repeat I am preparing for new growth and new beginnings.

I am preparing for new growth and new beginnings.

Turn your awareness back to your breath breathing deeply and feeling the air refresh and cleanse you.

With each inhale draw in new energy and possibility and with each exhale release any lingering traces of what you've decided to let go.

As this meditation comes to a close take a few more deep breaths and slowly start to bring awareness back to your surroundings.

Gently wiggle your fingers and your toes stretch into your muscles and when you're ready open your eyes.

Embrace release and make space for the new opportunities that await in the next cycle.

This was great! I'm very picky about my lunar phase meditations because I've been working with the moon for a long time, but this is right along the lines what I'm always looking for and I'll be checking out the other lunar phase meditations in this series. Thank you so much!
