There is great peace and power available in the Ancient Sacred Texts. This meditation is on the very popular Psalm 1. Written over 3,000 years ago, this text will help you visualize more peace and abundance by becoming like a "tree planted by water."

Welcome to Meditating on Sacred Texts,

Psalm 1.

Find yourself a comfortable place to sit,

In a chair or on the floor.

And just for a minute,

Take a few deep breaths.

Now,

If your eyes are open,

Go ahead and close them,

While breathing in through your nose,

And out through your nose.

Just focus on your breathing.

As we get into Psalm 1,

This text was written,

And it's written in the Bible,

And it's written in the Bible,

And in Psalm 1,

This text was written,

Around 3,

So as you read it,

Just feel the weight of history,

And the length of time that this has been around,

And how it's impacted billions of people.

I'm going to read it through four times,

Each time giving a minute or two in between,

Just for you to reflect on something that pops out at you during the reading.

Each time I read it,

Just let the words sink in,

And then find one thing to focus on as you're breathing,

And meditating on the sacred text.

Psalm 1,

Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked,

Nor stands in the way of sinners,

Nor sits in the seat of scoffers.

But his delight is in the law of the Lord,

And on his law he meditates day and night.

He is like a tree planted by streams of water,

That yields its fruit in its season,

And its leaf does not wither.

In all that he does,

He prospers.

The wicked are not so,

But are like chaff that the wind drives away.

Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,

Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

For the Lord knows the way of the righteous,

But the way of the wicked will perish.

Now,

Take just a moment to reflect on something significant that you heard in that chapter.

You have heard in that chapter.

You you you As I read it a second time Just let your mind find something in this section of sacred text that it wants to focus on for a few minutes Psalm 1 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked Nor stands in the way of sinners Nor sits in the seat of scoffers But his delight is in the law of the Lord and on his law he meditates day and night He is like a tree planted by streams of water That yield to its fruit in season and its leaf does not wither in All that he does he prospers The wicked are not so but are like chaff that the wind drives away Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous For the Lord knows the way of the righteous,
