You can be upset without attacking another.

You can be upset without attacking or shaming yourself.

Something or someone can hurt you.

Whether intentional or not isn't what matters.

There is no justification in any attack on another for an attack on another is an attack on yourself.

I know maybe there's some resistance in hearing that.

We all experience resistance to love and forgiveness.

Because we're used to attack.

We're used to shaming another.

We're used to unconsciously attacking another and then wondering why things aren't working out in our lives.

So let's clean this up.

It's because the energy that you place out into the world,

Even in your mind,

Holds energy.

And it's placed into what I call the universal pool.

And that pool is what splashes back,

Unless it's cleaned.

And now some may call that karma,

Whereas I call that love.

So how is that love?

Or maybe you don't feel like they deserve the love,

Yet you do.

You're intentionally choosing love rather than reverting to the pattern and behavior of attack.

And that's the energy that you get to hold and experience your life through.

One of my favorite things from The Color Purple is everything you've done to me,

I've already done to you.

And that's why it's so important to know that you need do nothing.

There's nothing that you need to do.

There's nothing that you need to say,

Other than making peace within your own heart.

So you can be upset and hurt without attacking another.

Attacking another,

Whether physically,

Emotionally,

Mentally,

Spiritually,

Energetically,

Right?

It doesn't make anything better.

And maybe in that moment you feel justification or satisfaction,

Yet for how long and for what purpose?

What you believe happened,

What you believe that they did,

Doesn't justify the attack that you're giving.

This isn't about shame.

This is about the truth of you.

This is about the truth of you.

Whatever it is that happened doesn't justify how you respond.

It doesn't make it okay.

And this isn't about shaming yourself,

It's about responding differently.

And for a while I believed this to be true until I went through something so painful that I didn't realize that I was waking up and thinking about this and replaying it over and over and over and over again.

And I realized that I was unintentionally attacking another person and it didn't feel good in my body.

It didn't feel good in my heart.

And I was taking up so much space and wondering what I'll say,

What I wish I said,

What happened,

Why it happened.

So yes,

Something may have hurt you,

And how you feel is valid,

Your emotions,

That pain that followed,

It's all real.

And they're not to be minimized,

Yet your response to it is everything.

It affects how your life will go from this moment forward.

How you move in the world,

Who you continue to stand as,

How you sleep,

And how your days go.

The work you put out,

It's all energy.

So you can be upset without attacking another.

Because again,

Attacking another,

Regardless of the form that it takes,

Is an attack on yourself.

So where your work is,

Is making peace within your own heart,

Within your own mind,

So you can be free.

I hope.
