“The most basic of all human needs is to understand and be understood. The best way to understand people is to listen to them.”
— Ralph G. Nichols
True listening has become rare. Though most believe they’re good listeners, research shows we retain only half of what we hear. Nearly half of children worldwide say adults don’t truly listen. We all long to be seen, heard, and understood — a longing at the heart of connection.
Wonderfully though, listening is a forgotten art we can remember.
This course invites you to (un)learn the habits that block real connection and rediscover the essence of presence. You’ll explore what I call the virtues of listening — intention, presence, and depth — through insights from Nonviolent Communication, the Alētheia Coaching Method, and non-dual awareness.
Through stories, practices, and lived experience, you’ll cultivate listening as both a practical skill and a form of meditation grounded in love.
By the end, you’ll gain conversational tools, awaken your natural capacity to listen deeply, and reconnect with the quiet wisdom already within you.
If you’re looking for more specific tools and insights around conflict, anger, and mediation, I recommend my course “Nonviolent Communication Part 4: Shame, Conflict and Protecting Life.”

Inspired by my days studying philosophy, this session reveals what specific intentions and attitudes we can hold, in order to eleveate our listening from passive emptiness to active positivity.

Listen As If You're Meditating
Meditating is very much like listening. And our listening becomes truly deep when we approach it like meditating.
In this session, you'll discover 5 mindfulness qualities, and how they bring your listening to a whole other level.

The Meaning Of Kindness
At the deepest, at the most vulnerable, and at the most honest layer of listening, I see it as a radical act of love, creating intimacy to the level of non-separateness.
Listening manifests our true togetherness. Listening is in every sense of the word, loving kindness.
