Lição 1
Recognising Reactivity
In a moment of distress, we often get caught into our habitual patterns to react to the distress: avoidance or entanglement. We can over-eat food to avoid the distress or over-think the problem to solve the distress. In this session, we will learn how to mindfully recognise our habitual reactivities with attitudes of non-judging and compassion.
Lição 2
Allowing And Letting Be
When things are not as we expect, we are tempted to try a little harder. This relentless effort can make the situation far worse, leading to feelings of exhaustion and burnout. In this session, we will learn how to allow and let things be as they are. This is not passivity, it helps us be more compassionate to our suffering and be more creative to solve our problems.
Lição 3
Responding Skillfully, Thoughts Are Not Facts
A mindfulness student asks the wise old master: “What is the goal of a lifetime of practice?” The answer comes back, “An appropriate response.” In this session, we will learn how our thoughts are changed from moment to moment and how we can use mindfulness to respond to them skilfully.
Lição 4
How Can I Best Take Care Of Myself
Life has ups and downs. When we have troubles, the most important thing is to take care of ourselves. In this session, we will understand the different types of activities (nourishing or depleting) in life and learn how to best take care of ourselves.
Lição 5
Mindfulness For Life
Practicing mindfulness is a lifelong journey and it may play a different role at different age stages. We need a clear intention and commitment to mindfulness practice. In this session, we will learn how to link intentions for mindfulness practice to personally significant values.
