Lição 1
Building Resilience - Positive Reflections
In Day 1, participants learn how orientation and attention to the environment support nervous system regulation and resilience. This lesson introduces how the body processes cues of safety and how internal sensations can be understood as meaningful signals rather than abstract experiences.
By reflecting on moments of happiness and noticing corresponding bodily responses, participants begin building a somatic vocabulary that will be developed across the course. Journaling and simple drawing are used as educational tools to support awareness, learning, and application.
A journal and basic drawing materials are recommended.
Lição 2
Building Resilience - Movement For Self Awareness
Day 2 introduces movement as a tool for understanding how the nervous system organizes behavior, preference, and stress response. Participants learn how different qualities of movement influence internal states such as ease, activation, or resistance, and how these responses provide actionable information about regulation, capacity, and social preference.
Through guided exploration, participants identify preferred and non-preferred patterns of engagement and begin linking bodily responses to broader patterns of functioning in daily life. This lesson builds upon the somatic vocabulary established in Day 1 and expands it through applied learning. Journaling is used to support reflection and integration.
Some space to move is helpful. All activities can be adapted to individual physical needs and available resources.
Lição 3
Building Resilience - Pendulating Between Preferred And Non Preferred
In Day 3, participants learn how stress is regulated through the autonomic nervous system and why flexibility—rather than constant calm—is essential for resilience. This lesson explains how the body responds to challenge and how regulation can be supported through intentional shifts in attention and environment.
Participants are guided to identify stress signals in the body and observe how physiological states change when focus is redirected toward neutral or supportive experiences. The emphasis is on learning how regulation works, not eliminating stress. Journaling is optional to support learning and insight.
Lição 4
Building Resilience - Titrating Stress
On Day 4, participants continue learning how resilience is developed by increasing the nervous system’s ability to stay present with stress without becoming overwhelmed. This lesson expands on earlier discussions of stress by examining how activation can be approached in manageable ways that support learning and adaptability.
Participants practice observing stress responses while simultaneously accessing stabilizing internal references, helping the nervous system maintain flexibility rather than defaulting to avoidance or shutdown. Journaling is recommended to consolidate learning and insight.
Lição 5
Building Resilience - Conversing With The Body's Innate Wisdom
In Day 5, participants learn how the nervous system responds to sustained internal focus and why tolerance for quieter internal signals is essential for resilience. This lesson introduces reflective writing as a tool for accessing and organizing bodily information related to stress, need, and regulation.
Through guided inquiry, participants practice staying present with subtle sensations and emerging information, strengthening their ability to remain engaged without becoming overwhelmed. Journaling is recommended to support integration following the lesson.
Writing materials are recommended.
Lição 6
Building Resilience - Reflecting Into The Future
Day 6 emphasizes integrating the learning from the first five lessons into a unified understanding of self-regulation and resilience. Participants practice checking in with the body, using light movement to support clarity, and recognizing internal signals as information that can guide decision-making.
This final lesson focuses on applying self-knowledge toward future possibilities, supporting intentional choice and adaptive growth. Journaling is encouraged to support reflection and integration.
