Happy New Year everyone.

I wanted to do something completely different to say thank you actually to my 100 followers.

I said that when I reached 100 followers I'd offer something different as a way of saying thank you.

So this New Year's Tarot reflection is a thank you to those 100 souls that get something from my music or meditations.

But also if you feel drawn to listen to this reading and you're not a follower that's also absolutely right.

Just go with that gut feeling and see what comes up for you.

I would ask if you could follow me that would be great.

In 2025 I really want to invest more in putting more content out there.

So trying a few different things and I was actually reading tarot cards since I was a teenager which I'm not going to say how long ago that was but at least 30 years.

So yeah why not.

Why not do one for everyone and for myself as well.

I've divided it into two actually.

So there's going to be it'll be in the same recording but there's a part one which is looking back at 2024 to see any of the major themes and lessons that we need to be connecting to before we move into the new year.

And then a second part where we're going to be looking at 2025.

I'm actually a psychotherapist as well and I've been exploring how to use tarot as an effective therapeutic intervention for when people are stuck or need some more rich imagery to help them put images and feelings to their process.

And we're going to be using the tarot in that way today as a therapeutic and reflective tool to explore the lessons that we've gained after the last 12 months.

I just wanted to emphasize that for me personally I don't use tarot as a way of fortune-telling although if you do want to cross my palm with silver there is a donate function on here.

I don't use it to predict the future instead I sort of see it as a bit of a mirror.

A way to connect with my own intuition to explore thoughts and emotions and to gain clarity around certain issues maybe.

Not to find solutions but from the outside but to help me find the solutions that are already present within me.

And one of my cats has just come in to take part in this reading so yeah let's keep that bit in there as well just so you know I'm not alone.

Okay so you're invited.

She's definitely going to want to come up onto her seat.

If you're interested her name is Padme which is a Sanskrit word that means lotus flower.

So back to the reading.

I invite you to take whatever resonates with you and if something doesn't feel like it fits that's also perfectly okay.

Trust your instincts,

Your feelings and yeah feel free to just ignore anything that doesn't work for you.

As we go through each of the spreads I will explain a little bit about the cards maybe not so much but more about the kind of journey,

The story that's being told and the potential meanings but ultimately this is your readings,

My reading as well and feel free to interpret the cards in a way that you know speaks deeply to you especially if using tarot is part of your regular practice.

Okay so let's get straight into it.

Okay so the first card which is a kind of opening card to look at the major theme or potential theme for 2024 and we've got the lovers card in the upright position.

So the lovers as an opening theme tells us that 2024 was a year of choices,

Alignment and relationships both with others and also the most important relationship which we have which is with ourselves.

This card often speaks to moments when we've had to make decisions that maybe have tested our values and our authenticity.

Perhaps last year asked us to consider questions like am I living in alignment with what I truly want and who I truly am.

It might also reflect the importance of partnerships,

Connections and unity whether that was with others or through integrating different aspects of ourselves.

One of the important images I think from this card is the fact that the two people in it are looking up towards the sky,

Towards heaven or to some higher dimension or higher potentiality.

They're looking for something I feel that's transcendent and positive and maybe that was something about 2024 that we were you know looking to fulfill our highest potential.

We had some certain choices to make around that and maybe some significant partnerships that came from that or you know things that we need to kind of look for it to enable us to get to that place.

For those familiar with the tarot will notice the similarity with the devil card where the faces are actually looking down and that's about being more chained to worldly pleasures and you know sometimes it's interpreted the devil card as you know addictions and and these kind of things.

Yeah and there is an aspect of it but it's also about looking at our shadow side whereas with the lovers we're looking kind of upwards to that sort of higher level of consciousness.

I'm sure for anyone that's a regular user of insight timer that's probably a theme that's for all of us.

The next three cards are going to be what I would sort of describe as the journey that we've taken in light of that first theme setting card.

First card in the next three is the seven of pentacles.

Pentacles or coins relate to material earthly ideas and values.

The seven of pentacles shows us that much of the year was about patience.

The imagery is of a man standing looking at the pentacles that he's cultivated.

It's about long-term effort and maybe even delaying some gratification for something bigger that's going to come later on.

It's a time of planting seeds.

Maybe seeds were sown in 2024,

Goals were established,

Intentions were set and it was a time to maybe take a step back and to look at some of the progress that we have made.

It's all about the long-term,

It's all about doing small things to get to a much bigger goal later on.

Maybe you found yourself reflecting on what's actually worth your energy and deciding whether to stay on course or maybe it's time to pivot away.

It's a card that speaks of sort of steady work and growth and also a time to pause and say,

Well is this path that I'm on and this energy that I'm putting in,

Is it fulfilling?

And this really resonates for me as I had a year of coming to the end of a four-year period of study and it really was a long,

Long process.

One that was all about sort of small steps and staying the course.

So yeah,

That really resonates with me.

And then as we move on in the journey,

We have the Knight of Wands.

So the Knight of Wands is fire energy,

Very,

Very fiery.

Passion,

Drive,

Ideas.

Mid-year,

We may have felt like a time when inspiration or boldness came to us.

That push,

That inner push and inner fire and resource that helps us move towards those goals.

This card reflects ambition,

It's creativity,

Maybe even a little bit of risk-taking in there.

But it's about moving forward,

About being ready to charge ahead,

Fueled by excitement and passion.

It's a really positive card,

Especially in the upright position.

But with this creativity and enthusiasm,

We must make sure that we're also planning.

And just as that previous card showed,

It's not all about getting everything at once,

But making those small,

Slow,

Systemic steps towards that goal.

Once we've got the goal,

You know,

In the lover's card,

We're looking up to the sky and it's about,

We're not going to get there today or maybe tomorrow or last year.

We might not have got to where we wanted to,

But it's all about making steady progress.

Sometimes I feel this is a little bit,

And I hope this doesn't come across as in a negative way,

But sometimes,

You know,

There's a lot of different,

I don't have any courses on Insight Timer,

I'd like to do some,

But I often see things like,

You know,

Seven-day challenge,

30 days to unlimited health,

Unlock your potential.

And these are all great,

I think,

For that,

Getting that initial energy and passion.

But a lot of the time,

This work is really slow,

Guys.

It's not,

Yeah,

It's not easy and it takes time.

Okay,

So moving on in the year,

This is still 2024,

Just a little note there.

I'm really enjoying this.

I'm going to do more of this.

Really nice,

Just a freestyle actually,

Rather than scripted sort of meditations or not scripted,

But you know,

There's a plan.

Okay,

So we're moving on and we've got our first reversed card now,

Which is the eight of wands.

And the reversed eight of wands,

It kind of speaks to,

So the imagery,

There are eight rods or eight wands on the card,

Which often speaks to like,

Carrying a lot of things.

I'm not going to say what those things are,

But certainly it can feel like we're carrying a lot.

There's a lot going on.

And the previous cards have kind of alluded to that.

But when this card is in the reverse position,

It may suggest that things have slowed down towards the end of 2024,

Where we had the kind of fiery energy of mid-year.

I'm thinking sort of summer solstice and the energy of summer that as we've come out of that,

Again,

This really speaks to me as I finished a big course and then I'm sort of in between things and it's not going as quickly as I want.

And I don't have time to do everything that I've learned and want to do.

I have to just accept that things are going to take some time.

What felt like a forward momentum actually could have been met with delays and obstacles,

Problems around communication.

But there is a positive in this and maybe towards the end of 2024,

Maybe even over the Christmas period that we're in now,

This reversal might also indicate what I would consider the internal retreat,

A time to pause,

Recalibrate,

Maybe shift expectations.

If you're a spreadsheet person,

Go back to the plan and maybe just adjust the timelines on it.

We constantly need to check in with the kind of external and internal realities around us to reassess where we are on the journey.

What we thought might be happening at one point earlier on as things progress,

Things are going to change.

So absolutely,

A pause isn't necessarily or a slowdown isn't necessarily a bad thing.

And then closing theme for the year,

Don't freak,

But it's the tower we've got here,

Which I love this card and I get this card a lot and it used to really scare me because obviously the imagery of lightning striking a tower with people jumping out,

You know,

It doesn't exactly conjure up happy,

Joyous and free.

So I've always had a bit of a problem with it.

But over time I realized,

Well,

Nothing's actually bad has happened to me.

I pull it all the time.

There's been no huge cataclysmic collapse.

I've had some mini collapses,

Don't get me wrong,

But it's,

You know,

It's not as bad as it looks.

And I think for me,

For me,

That this tower card at the end of the year is amazing.

And it really just represents profound transformation.

And that transformation might be quick after the stagnation of the previous card and the slowdown that things are going to start to speed up again.

Upheaval,

Breaking down old structures,

Clearing away that no longer serves.

And while the tower can feel challenging because of the kind of,

You know,

What's usually spoken about as a very sudden upheaval,

It can actually bring great liberation,

Liberation,

Making room for something,

Making room for something new and authentic to emerge.

And without the upheaval,

Without the destruction of those old,

Whether they're,

I always think of it as a very phallic image.

If those of you interested in sort of psychodynamic thinking,

Which I'm trained in,

You know,

The phallic kind of symbol of power and power structures.

And,

You know,

And these can be internal,

External.

That we're going through,

The world is going through a period of profound change.

It always is.

And that change is represented by the tower as being something that might come out from the left field.

And just to be aware of that,

To recognize it when it comes,

To not be afraid of it,

To lean in,

Actually,

To lean into any challenging feelings.

And maybe just to reflect on some questions.

You know,

What do I need to let go of?

What has been cleared?

You know,

What power structures need to change?

And yeah,

To not be scared of change.

There you go.

That just popped out there.

Not be scared of change.

You know,

Sometimes you've got to jump out of that tower if it's burning.

But you will be okay,

Guys.

You will be okay.

So that is the last year's reflections.

I feel like I'm on a bit of a roll.

I'm just going to put these cards back into the deck as they may want to come out later on.

Maybe this is a chance just to pause and just to say that,

You know,

Growth is very rarely linear.

And just take this opportunity to think about the transformations that were present for you last year.

Okay.

I'm just going to check my recording,

See if everything's,

Yep.

So we're moving into 2025.

I've got mixed feelings about 2025.

I'm feeling like,

You know,

A lot of my energy is going to be used to move into a different way of working.

And I'm excited about that.

I'm also a bit nervous.

That previous spread really,

Really resonated for me.

I hope it resonated for some of you too.

But let's look ahead to what potentially could be happening in 2025.

So we're opening with the first card of the Major Arcana,

Which is incredibly auspicious,

The four.

Wow.

We want better card to have at the beginning of the year.

The blank slate.

The four is not a four because he's stupid.

He's a four because he is,

You know,

He is,

It's that kind of almost like childlike,

Wild abandon of stepping into something new.

His eyes are open and he's at the start of his journey.

I think if you're,

Again,

Coming back to psychodynamic theory,

If you're familiar with the work of Carl Jung,

This is the very beginning of the journey towards individuation.

And then the rest of the cards can be seen as the steps towards becoming a fully integrated consciousness,

A fully integrated ego.

And the four is the very newest,

Freshest start and that limitless possibility and potential.

This card really invites us to step into the year with curiosity,

I think,

And an open heart.

We have everything we need with us.

You know,

The four is carrying a small bag on a stick over his shoulder with all his worldly possessions.

That is our inner,

You know,

That is our innate gifts that we have,

That we carry around with us.

And there's a little dog by his side.

And to show that there are people,

Beings,

Guides,

Friends,

Family,

Lovers,

Colleagues.

There are people around us that are going to help us with this and they want to be with us.

You know,

They want to,

They want to come on that journey with us.

And as he takes a step off the cliff,

We know he's going to be okay because we know that there's another load of cards out there and other steps along his path that he's going to need to take.

And the path ahead might not be fully clear.

And yeah,

That can be scary.

But I think that this card really reminds us that the first step is often the most important.

It's a call to approach 2025 with a sense of what I would consider to be childlike,

Not childish,

But childlike wonder.

Freedom and to trust the process.

Now we move into the journey that we might be taking through 2025.

And there'll be three cards.

So,

And this isn't necessarily linear in a sense of beginning of the year,

Middle of the year,

But it represents a kind of inner,

Inner unconscious journey.

So we start with the Queen of Cups in the upright position.

And the Queen of Cups really encourages us to center emotional wisdom.

One of the most emotional,

Compassionate,

And intuitive cards in the whole deck.

And she really reminds us to stay connected to our feelings.

That's what's going to help us along the journey and to nurture both ourselves and others.

It's a very nurturing,

Maternal,

Holding,

Containing card,

Which is all about feelings.

So really just listening to the feelings that are coming up.

And this,

What I would say is the second card after the fall is that this could be a year of really deep,

Deep emotional growth,

Actually in healing and supporting those around us.

Even if many of us,

I'm sure again,

Coming back to the demographic on Insight Timer,

Maybe we healers and therapists and supporters,

Coaches,

Artists ourselves,

And maybe we can embody some of that Queen of Cups energy as an archetype,

Regardless of gender,

But that is within all of us.

And to really tap into that.

The Queen asks us to reflect,

How can I honor my emotional needs?

How can I show up for myself in an emotional way?

Maybe this is just coming through now,

But just maybe myself included didn't grow up in an environment where there was a lot of emotional support or needs being met.

So I've really had to just do it myself.

And it's sad,

Really should have come from someone else,

But the reality is it didn't.

And I need to really honor the fact that I am an emotional being and I need to look after myself.

And I think that's what's coming through for me personally in this one,

You'd all have a different take on it.

But firstly,

I think,

You know,

Showing up for myself then for others,

And then for the work that I want to do and bring out into the world.

It all needs to be grounded in this emotional,

Excuse me,

Holding,

Excuse me,

And depth.

I'm not going to edit these little coughs out because I'm on a roll.

Okay.

So moving in now to the second card,

Which is the Page of Pentacles.

So pages usually represent sort of,

You know,

Youthful energy and new opportunities.

And again,

With pentacles,

It can be something that's more on the earthly material resources,

Career,

In that kind of space.

Because it's a page and a young energy,

This could represent being a student or learning something new.

Obviously,

Student of life,

We all are also exploring.

Wow,

This really now I'm thinking about it resonates again,

Coming back to my own journey last year of doing some training,

Like exploring the skills,

The new skills that perhaps we've learned.

Especially if we're looking at that previous spread,

Or setting the foundation for future sort of success,

Planting seeds,

That's coming through and being open to possibilities,

Especially in areas like work and education,

And personal growth,

Personal development.

Maybe this is the year that you're really going to set a firm meditation practice or dance practice,

Or you're going to go to that yoga class,

And maybe you're going to go on to teach training or something.

It's all open.

But again,

Another theme of this would be,

You know,

Small steps,

Consistent effort,

And it could lead to a really big,

Big outcome in the future.

And then,

Interestingly,

We come to a reverse card,

We had a reverse card in the same position for 2024.

Now we've got the reverse three of pentacles.

Yeah,

So I mean,

The three of pentacles tradition is about teamwork.

Again,

It's a pentacle,

So it's material career,

Things of the earthly realm,

Needs,

Material needs.

And I feel,

You know,

In the reversed position,

It can just speak to collaboration,

But it's not quite working.

You know,

It feels a bit challenging.

It feels a bit challenging.

Maybe the job that you're in is not quite,

It's not quite doing it for you anymore,

Or the various collaborations that you're in just aren't quite working.

Maybe there's a struggle around teamwork,

Communication.

Maybe you've just got different goals.

I mean,

This is something that comes up with me,

Work all the time,

That people are part of a team,

But we've all got slightly different agendas and goals and things that we're working to.

I would say this is a time that we really need to reflect on our relationship with others,

Whether in work,

Friendship,

Creative projects,

Be open to giving and receiving support.

And if we're clear about our,

Be clear about our expectations from the team,

From the group,

Our place in it,

The contributions that we're prepared to make,

And to really think about working towards,

So for those people that you're working with in whatever space,

To think about where are we kind of misaligned here?

Where are we not quite gelling?

Are you saying potato and I'm saying potato?

It's kind of like the same thing,

But it's different.

I don't know where that came from,

But what are the blocks?

Why does this not feel quite right?

And to be just really open and honest about those kinds of things,

And maybe just have a period of restructuring or recalibrating,

Realigning,

And everyone getting back on the same page.

And if that means walking away,

To do that in a conscious way,

Or to give it another go,

Or just to recognize when things might not be working and it's time to move on.

So I think this is just a little bit of a heads up around how we're working with others.

So take from that what you will.

Okay,

And we're going to close this 2025 spread with,

Wow,

Again,

Okay,

So the lovers.

Wow,

So it's come out twice for 2024,

Now for 2025,

In opposing positions,

We open 2024 with it,

We're now closing 2025 with it.

I don't even know where to begin,

Getting goosebumps.

So yeah,

Everything I said about 2024 and the lovers is now something that is going to be very present throughout 2025.

Returning cards as a theme,

I think,

Really important to note.

This card,

As I said before,

Really signifies alignment and harmony and choices,

Connecting to others and ourselves in a really authentic way.

To make that choice,

To look up,

To look up at a higher dimension and purpose,

To not do it alone,

To be with others that we want to be with.

Maybe there's a very new,

A close partnership that might develop this year or something that was in the previous year that's now really going to come into its own.

It's a reminder that this journey is all about bringing ourselves what I would consider to be group therapy,

What's the word,

Contact people,

Seeking contact,

And I feel that this is a card and a spread that reminds us that to get closer to ourselves and to people,

To our values,

To our work,

To the opportunities out there that resonate deeply with who we are as people.

And to look at how these relationships and priorities and this sense of purpose has been shaped by the choices that we make and can be shaped by the choices that we make.

Wow.

Yeah,

Very,

Very powerful.

Very powerful.

When I look at this as a whole now,

I just see a combined spread of new beginnings,

Emotional growth,

Learning,

Working with others,

Collaboration.

There's going to be some challenging stuff.

I mean,

You know,

Come on,

Wouldn't grow if there wasn't any challenging stuff.

I could use with a bit less challenging stuff this year,

If I'm honest,

But you know,

It's going to be there,

Especially around collaboration.

But I think ultimately this year is going to offer an opportunity to really align with our core self,

Our truest self,

And to build meaningful connections.

Maybe we could just pause there now,

Leave it there for a moment and just reflect.

What are we ready to embrace?

What's this community of my 100 followers ready to embrace and anyone who's just joining?

How can we stay connected to our emotional self,

Our emotional needs whilst pursuing these new opportunities?

And how might these choices lead to greater harmony and fulfillment in the year ahead?

Maybe just breathe that in,

Take a deep breath in and then breathe out.
