This is a great meditation to do when your mind is racing, and you are feeling overwhelmed or anxious. This will bring you back to the here-and-now and is very helpful in allowing you to calm down quickly. This healing meditation will help you ground, get center, open up to love, self-compassion and transformation.

I'm Barbara Bijou and today I'm going to guide you through a grounding visualization to help you with any stress or anxiety you may be feeling.

Most of us live very much in our heads thinking of all the things we have to do.

If we do this,

This will happen.

If we do this,

This will happen.

And we wind up spinning,

Never totally grounding in our physical bodies.

This is an exercise that will get you back in your physical body and will ground you to the earth energy which can support you.

Just like a tree needs strong roots so it can sway in the wind,

So too do you need to be grounded and rooted to allow you to open and bring in new ideas and live a life of happiness,

Joy,

And love.

So close your eyes now,

Sitting comfortably,

Uncrossing your arms or legs.

This allows the body to take in all the air that you need and begin to take some slow deep breaths,

Breathing in to the count of four,

Holding for two,

And breathing out for four.

Breathing in two,

Three,

Four,

Hold,

And out two,

Three,

Four.

Breathing in two,

Three,

Four,

And out two,

Three,

Four.

Three more times,

In two,

Three,

Four,

And out two,

Three,

Four.

One more time now,

Breathing in and breathing out.

Beautiful.

And now imagine that like a tree you have roots.

And imagine these roots going from the soles of your feet now all the way down into the earth,

Past all the layers of rock,

Minerals,

Deep,

Deep,

Deep,

Deep,

Moving down to the center of Mother Earth.

And as your roots expand now,

See them connecting to a large energy pulsing in the center of the earth.

It is like a big lake of pulsing energy,

Nurturing,

Healing,

Grounding.

And in your imagination,

Begin to breathe up this warm,

Solid,

Grounded earth energy.

See it moving up through your roots,

This nourishing,

Healing energy,

Moving into the soles of your feet,

Relaxing all the muscles in your feet,

Up your legs,

Warm,

Relaxing energy,

Moving up your thighs,

Into your pelvic area,

Relaxing all the muscles and body parts.

Imagine it fills your entire body now,

Moving down your arms,

Into your hands.

Feel this energy in your neck now and your shoulders,

This warm,

Wonderful energy.

It's like receiving a beautiful massage from the earth.

Feel it filling your head,

Relaxing all the muscles around your eyes,

Your forehead,

Bringing you deeper and deeper into a state of effortless concentration and deep relaxation.

Warm,

Nurturing earth energy,

Giving you support,

Grounding you,

Energizing you.

Just breathe it in now.

Any thought that may pop up that causes you any anxiety or stress,

Just imagine you could just release it down through the roots into the earth.

Just give it to the earth,

Let it go.

Releasing,

Letting go.

So easy.

Any thought that comes up,

Just give it down to the earth.

And now place your right hand over your left on the center of your chest,

Inhaling and exhaling,

Allowing your breath to drop deep into your heart now.

And as you breathe into your heart center,

Open to the qualities of the heart,

Open to deep love,

Self-love,

Knowing there's nothing you have to do to deserve it,

It's your birthright.

Breathe it in,

Expanding your capacity to give and receive love.

Beautiful.

And now open up to the quality of deep compassion and empathy.

Being able to be gentle with yourself as well as others,

And especially to have empathy for any area of your life that you may resist.

Breathe in this quality of empathy.

Beautiful.

And now opening to deep peace,

Allowing yourself to move into a state of centeredness,

Like being in the center of a storm.

It's quiet,

Calm.

You're totally relaxed.

The center point in the midst of all the chaos in the world.

And right now,

You have a choice.

How do you want to feel?

So right now,

Choose.

If joy is important to you,

Choose joy.

If love is important to you,

Choose love.

Whatever you desire,

Choose abundance,

Choose possibilities,

Choose creativity,

Friendship,

Productivity.

Whatever it is that you want,

Now is the time to choose.

Notice how you feel having made these choices.

Take a few deep breaths now,

Feeling how much calmer,

More relaxed you are,

Grounded to the earth.

Get open and available to all of the possibilities that the world has to offer.

Know that your heart is open and true transformation only takes place in the heart.

Take one more deep breath.

Relax your focus.

Smile and enjoy your time.
