Hello,
My name is Ashley and today I'll be diving into the astrology of 2026 and offering wellness practices to balance the planetary shifts and transits.
Later this summer of 2026,
On July 28th,
The North Node will move into fixed air sign Aquarius for the next 18 months.
The North and South Nodes are not planets,
But they are rather orbital points where the Sun and Moon's paths cross.
So these points move around in tandem and are always in opposite signs.
They take about 18.
5 years to complete a full zodiac cycle or nodal return,
Though every 9 years the nodes will be in opposite signs or in a nodal opposition.
For example,
In 2023,
The North Node entered Aries and the South Node entered Libra.
The last time the North Node entered Aries was 18 years ago in 2004,
But when the South Node entered Aries and vice versa North Node entered Libra was in 2014.
So if we summarize the timeline,
2004,
The North Node was in Aries.
2014,
About 9-10 years later,
The South Node was in Aries,
Which is opposite to the North Node.
2023,
Another 9 years later,
The North Node returned to Aries.
If this is too confusing,
Don't worry about it.
I just thought it was a fun fact about the nodes and the significance of these 18 year cycles.
Nodal shifts are quite a big deal in astrology because they highly influence the houses of the signs that rule these parts of your chart.
The nodes that are currently in those signs determine what we have solar and lunar eclipses in.
For example,
We had Pisces and Virgo solar and lunar eclipses in 2025.
Now that the North Node is entering Aquarius,
We will start to have Aquarius and Leo solar and lunar eclipses.
We'll be flip-flopping within this year between the Pisces-Virgo and Aquarius-Leo eclipses,
So we will still be having Pisces and Virgo eclipses in 2026.
But what we can collectively expect is more innovative energy,
Similar to Uranus and Gemini.
We may feel called to look outside of ourselves and embrace the community and groups and how they contribute to our individual purpose.
Writing off of the healing and solitude and spiritual themes of the North Node and Pisces,
We're now integrating the healing we've done alone to share with your network to further benefit the world.
We may also feel called to embrace our eccentricity and uniqueness.
Aquarius typically offers different ways of finding solutions.
The last time the North Node was in Aquarius was 18 years ago in January 2008.
And just reflect on what was happening in our collective at that time and in your personal life as well.
Also take note of when the South Node was in Aquarius,
The opposite sign,
In 2017 about 9 years ago and what was occurring in your life then around the Aquarius themes of community,
Uniqueness,
Solutions,
Innovations,
And humanitarian work.
Eventually the South Node in Leo will meet with Jupiter in Leo in 2026 and may be a time where we all are letting go of our egos,
Serving as an ego check for us.
Walnut's practices for when North Node enters Aquarius is a somatic mental release.
Because we may experience heightened mental activity and grand visions of the future with North Node in Aquarius,
If we don't feel we are taking strides towards creating that utopia on a daily basis,
We may feel mental anxiety or stress until we make that vision a reality.
To settle that intellectual fixed air energy of Aquarius,
I love this somatic mental release practice called cranial release.
It involves placing your thumbs on the inner corner of your eyebrows and resting your other fingers at the center of your forehead.
Then gently lean your head into your fingers so that the pressure from your thumbs supports your skull.
Our frontal lobe which sits behind our forehead rules high-level cognitive thinking,
Problem solving,
And speech among other executive functions.
When this area of our brain is overactive,
Tension tends to accumulate on our eyebrows and forehead.
This practice is a great release to really quiet the mind.
I hope you found this explanation of North Node in Aquarius helpful and inspiring to balance how you'll feel this energetic shift through the wellness practices I offered.
I hope you feel excited for taking the spiritual internal work that you've done and starting to externalize it in this next 18-month cycle.
