Hello and welcome to this full moon ritual meditation for the Virgo lunar eclipse.
This lunar eclipse is happening with the south node in Virgo and with it being in the south node this points to areas we need to let go of,
Areas of the past,
Areas of what was once comfortable and safe that can be transformed and transmuted to allow us to move forward in a more empowered sense.
These lunar eclipses tend to happen twice a year so the next set will happen in the fall and this period is generally pretty turbulent.
The energy is quite chaotic and unpredictable so now is not a great time to be manifesting or to be taking direct action on things.
It's a good time to just sit and reflect and meditate on all that has passed and reflect on what else needs to be let go so that we can move forward in a way that feels more aligned and is in our highest and greatest good.
So for this lunar eclipse meditation we will be reflecting a lot on themes of Virgo around organization,
Control,
Perfectionism,
Self-criticism and where these thoughts or feelings or beliefs live in our body and with it being the full moon and the lunar eclipse this is a supportive time to let go of these potentially shadow sides to Virgo that exists within each of us.
So for this meditation I invite you to find a nice clean quiet space.
If it's accessible to you find a room or sit outside where you can see the full moonlight shining over you for your practice.
Settle into your comfortable meditation position laying on the floor with pillows under your head and knees or you may choose to be seated with the spine nice and long or you may even prefer to recline laying on your couch wherever you can be comfortable but not so comfortable that you may fall asleep.
Once you find that position for your practice today allow the body to sink into the support beneath you taking a few deep breaths in through the nose and out through the mouth feeling every exhale bring you closer and closer to the earth as if the surface beneath you was like quicksand feeling it just gently hug you bringing your body a little bit closer to it allow yourself to release any gripping in the hands and feet relaxing the arms and legs softening the eyes closing them if you haven't already then become aware of your brain what sensations do you feel in your head start by scanning at the center of the forehead wrapping around to the back of the head the top of the head the base of the neck just become aware of any physical sensations you feel in the spaces around your head and begin to notice what thoughts you are having simply acknowledge observe them without attachment and allow them to pass begin to notice any physical mental or emotional sensations throughout the space of your brain encompassing your head neck and your crown center at the very top of your head send a few clearing breaths here creating space to open and release the mind the head the brain on this lunar eclipse let go of the breath and gently return to your natural rhythm of breathing Virgo is represented by the maiden carrying a sheaf of wheat to begin to imagine a bundle of wheat landing at the very center of your head right behind the third eye maybe two inches into the forehead two inches in front of the back of the head just imagine this little bundle of wheat resting here on your next exhale see this bundle of wheat blossom out and expand almost clearing out the brain as if it's fanning the space in your brain and as you inhale see this bundle of wheat close in together forming a tight little bundle as it started exhale see this bundle of wheat expand fanning out inhale see all the sheafs of wheat coming back together right at the center of your head take a few more breaths just like this as you exhale imagine this bundle of wheat fanning out clearing cleansing the mind and as you inhale see this bundle of wheat start to close in collecting together take one final breath with this bundle of wheat ending on the inhale seeing this bundle of wheat close in and shrink into a tiny little seed that is planted right at the center of your brain come back to your natural rhythm of breath take a moment to pause and imagine everything around you just freezing since this can be such a chaotic time finding this little pocket of peace in this moment observing the quality of the space the quality of your energy the frequency of your life and now with the mind open and clear allow yourself to receive any answers that may come through as I pose the following open questions to you it doesn't need to make sense or be logical it doesn't even need to be something that you have an answer to at the moment just listen to the question and stay in the moment observing the body the mind your energy and notice what arises first begin to reflect what is the full moon illuminating that you need to release beginning to separate the thoughts in your mind from who you actually are at your core notice if there is any harsh negative criticizing self-talk that you can separate yourself from continue to take slow steady breaths relieving the pressure of this old story these old critical self thoughts that aren't actually who you are it's just a thought that you used to have and begin to check in with the rest of your body notice if any of these self-critical stories live elsewhere in your body do you feel safe and ready to release them once and for all what old patterns around playing by the rules following a step-by-step plan being overly organized do you feel called to release where can you invite a balance of flow and structure in your life now feel yourself move forward with a balance of both practical and spiritual guiding you to flow with the world in a way that feels safe to you will begin to align these reflections to the breath take a deep inhale through the nose breathing in healing in big exhale out the mouth any old wounds you're ready to release inhale clarity exhale distraction inhale focused aligned direction in your life exhale any scatteredness any chaos take another deep inhale breathing in anything else you need and big final exhale releasing anything that you no longer have to hold on to begin to see the moon full and bright right over the top of your head this pure silvery moonlight descends over your mind beaming through the crevices of your brain releasing your most harmful self-critiques any self-imposed barriers float from your head and into the dark of the night sky feel the moon's illuminating light cleansing your mental space setting you free from thoughts on repeat from rumination from the confines of perfection as this light releases and liberates you allow your mind to exist beyond the box you've created to flow formless and shapeless the only rules that matter are the ones that you create for yourself not anyone else's just sit with this inner knowing that you are still worthy even without these definitions that the mind wants to create begin to share gratitude with the moon for setting you free to release the mental boundaries you've clung on to and to steep a deeper trust in yourself to that which presides above letting go of control trusting that the answers will come and that you will know how to move forward in your life bring your awareness back to the breath breathing into the boundaries around your body where your skin meets the space around you close your meditation ritual by placing your palms on your heart tucking the chin into chest to bow in gratitude take a final breath as you bow breathing in the beautiful moonlight the beautiful lunar energy that's here to support you and guide you along your path and exhale breathing into this gratitude for yourself for arriving here in this space for the practice for taking the time to be with your energy and your beautiful heart when you're ready you can gently flutter the eyes open and
