
Reiki Relaxation Circle Session 8
About three-quarters of the way through 2020, I felt that there was an immense need for healing, of humanity, and of the planet, and began doing a weekly online Reiki Relaxation Circle. This need continues through 2021 and I would love to have more people able to access these healing meditation sessions so I am sharing them here on Insight Timer. In this session, we focus on kindness to the self and go through a chakra-based body scan. This track contains ambient sounds in the background

Good evening everyone,
This is Arwen from Evenstar.
Welcome to the Reiki Relaxation Circle for tonight,
For Wednesday the 21st of October.
I don't have a particular astrological theme this week so we're going to go back to looking at our Reiki precepts and we're going to work again on kindness today.
Before I go any further I would like to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the lands on which we all practice from.
For myself that is the Wadawurrung people today,
I would like to acknowledge their elders and pay my respects to them,
The elders past,
Present and emerging.
So within the circle tonight we are all connected and we are using the energy that is all around all of us all the time,
Which in the Japanese tradition is called Reiki energy.
It actually Reiki itself means universal energy so we don't really need to say Reiki energy.
So I will be directing this energy to you so the purpose of the circle is to provide healing and relaxation to you and then your participation no matter what time or place you participate in the circle because most people are doing this at a time that suits them watching the recording on Facebook.
You can at any time come into the live session with me on Zoom if that is something that you would like to do or if you know people who would benefit or would enjoy participating and they don't hang out on Facebook,
There are some of those people out there believe it or not,
Then please let them know that they can participate on Zoom.
And the recordings also as well as being obviously on this Facebook page also go on to my YouTube channel and onto my Instagram on the Instagram TV area of my Instagram account.
So that is all just under Evenstar wellbeing to make it super simple to find it for you.
So we are going to be using energy to heal ourselves and then also through ourselves to direct energy out further beyond us to everyone that we're connected with and everyone that we are not connected with because in one way or another we are all connected.
We are also going to send energy to planet Earth to help her in her healing as well because without a healthy planet then we don't have much to look forward to.
So first of all if you have not had any experience of Reiki before that's fine you don't need to have.
It's based on the principles of quantum physics that I can send this energy to you no matter what time or place you're participating in the recording and you will get the benefits that you need to from me sending that energy to you.
So you just need to be relaxed and comfortable.
So first of all I'd definitely say make sure you're in a comfortable space and somewhere where you're not going to be disturbed.
You can certainly participate in this with any other members of your household.
But just get comfortable make sure you're warm you're going to be still so your body temperature will drop.
You can lie down or you can sit you don't need to be watching the video there won't be anything that you need to see except for the next minute or so.
But after that you can certainly lie down and get yourself as comfortable and cozy as you can to be as relaxed as you can because the more relaxed you are the more open you are to receiving this energy that we're working with.
So this energy is around all of us all the time available to us all and is something that is wonderful to tap into whenever you are feeling like you need a bit more energy which is probably a lot of us a lot of the time.
So like so many of these beautiful traditions that I've been talking about,
Many of these beautiful traditions from Eastern culture it is more than just a session where somebody sits with you and directs energy to you.
Reiki is a way of life the same as Buddhism the same as yoga.
And there are five statements that make up the way of life that is suggested for people who want to live with Reiki with universal energy at all times.
And that is for today only I will let go of anger for today only I will let go of worry for today only I will live with gratitude for today only I will work hard on myself for today only I will be kind to all people.
Now a few sessions ago we did work with kindness as well and especially focusing on that kindness being self-love and starting from a position of loving and being kind to yourself.
I saw a post on Instagram which I did share in my story the other day which said if you were to list all the things that you love what number would you come in at yourself.
Most people wouldn't even think to list themselves as something that they love and it's so fundamental.
The reason that I was particularly drawn to being kind to myself again today was that I am on day three of a detox program and it's not been super easy it hasn't been super difficult either but I just am noticing lots of changes fatigue but then not sleeping well lots of headaches but especially for the first two days because I'm not having any caffeine which I normally do have.
So I just thought you know what I need to remember that as well I need to remember to be kind to myself and to not push through these situations where really you're just not feeling very good as a self-employed person that can be really hard.
So I know it's something that so many people struggle with being kind to themselves so I thought let's focus on that one today again.
So what we do is we use that statement of for today only I will be kind to myself and well the statement we're going to use is I will be kind to all people but really thinking about and bringing into your heart space the fact that all people includes yourself and must start with yourself.
So or if you if it doesn't then you really literally empty your cup of love giving that love that kindness out to everyone and anyone around you but not keeping enough for yourself.
So we're going to use that statement of for today only I will be kind to all people as a mantra for our first relaxation meditation session and a mantra is something that is what you focus on during the meditation remembering that that is what meditation is it is not about having an empty mind it is about refocusing your mind again and again and again trying to hold on to the focus of that mantra those words as well as your breath but inevitably our busy busy busy brains will try and drag us off to some thought process.
So the practice is that you are refocusing on that mantra.
I will help you with that by restating that mantra out loud every 30 seconds for the five minutes that we are in this meditation.
So I will stop that screen share so now is the point where if you want to lie down rather than sitting up then you're most welcome to do that get yourself really really comfortable and start to focus on your breath once you have done that so really slowing the breath down taking the longest slowest deepest breaths you've taken all day and that includes your inhalation but also very important your exhalation really letting everything go as you get yourself comfortable and as you breathe out you release everything that doesn't serve you in the current moment.
And I'm going to use my beautiful Reiki app that will play us some lovely music and keep us focused as well so breathing in breathing out super slowly breathing in fully and releasing the breath completely and every 30 seconds I will repeat that mantra.
So for today only I will be kind to all for today only I will be fine to all people for today only I will be kind to all people for today only I will be kind to all people for today only I will be today so that app is called Reiki Timer with Pamela Miles so please do remain with your eyes closed down staying in your comfortable position we'll transfer the direction of the energy from directing it to ourselves the energy that I'm directing to you I did forget to mention to place your hands on yourselves but hopefully you did that anyway but now I'd invite you to place your hands facing outwards so palms facing outwards in some way depending on what position you're in perhaps just on your lap or by your sides whatever is comfortable for you so that you are I'm channeling the energy through you and you are directing it further outwards to every other living creature we're going to do that in stages so I'd invite you to take your focus back to your breath and especially this time focusing on the sensation of the breath within your chest within your heart space and if you really focus there you can actually feel your heart beating within your chest and it's important to understand that your heart actually has an incredible magnetic force that it generates and is able to be used to send your loving energy out from you but also to attract what you want to you it helps to boost this energy by using gratitude so I'd invite you now to bring a thought to mind of something that you're grateful for something that happened today can be a very small very small tiny thing managing to drink a hot cup of peppermint tea instead of a cold one whatever it is and carrying that thought into the heart space and feeling that gratitude within the heart and really noticing the sensation of what occurs in your heart when you feel gratitude it feels expansive it feels light and bubbly and really feeling that sensation that energy moving outwards from you so firstly focusing that energy sending that energy to anyone else who is in the same room or the same building as you right now take a big inhalation and with the exhalation visualize feel that loving energy extending from you to all those beings within your household and then with your next inhalation breathing the energy in feeling yourself breathing in the energy the loving energy of the universe of the planet and then with the out breath this time we're sending the energy out to everyone in your suburb and breathing in again energy in and breathing out and sending the energy out to everyone in your town or your city and breathing in the energy of the universe and with your exhalation you are sending the energy out to everyone within your state your state your territory your province everyone is receiving that loving energy breathing the energy in again and then with your exhalation every living creature every animal every plant every person in your country is receiving that energy and breathing in once more and with the exhalation sending the energy out to every living creature on the planet earth visualizing the earth being wrapped in a warm beautiful light that is the energy you might like to picture it as a particular color the whole planet wrapped in that loving energy directed by all of us and then visualizing the energy with your next exhalation actually returning back into the planet herself giving back to the source of all life so then for the rest of our relaxation for this evening i'm going to take you through a body scan put a body scan that's based on your seven essential energies what is often referred to as the seven chakras and while we do this i'd invite you to focus on the parts of your body that i'm directing your attention to so starting with paying attention so focusing your attention on your feet starting with the big toe of your right foot and just feeling into each body part as i name it the big toe of your left foot the second toe of the right the third of the right the fourth toe of the right the fifth toe of the right foot the top of the right foot the sole of the right foot the heel of the right foot the ankle of the right foot the shin of your right leg the calf of your right leg and your right knee your right thigh feeling into the quadriceps the muscles on the front of your thigh and your hamstring muscles on the back of your thigh and returning back down to the left foot so the left big toe second toe third toe on the left foot the fourth toe the fifth toe the sole of your left foot the top of your left foot the ankle of your left leg your left shin your left calf muscle your left knee your left thigh the top the quadriceps on your left thigh the back of your left thigh the hamstring muscles feeling into your right hip and then your left hip feeling into your perineum feeling your coccyx right at the bottom of your spine our foundation energy is activated then feeling the energy flowing in your lower digestive tract feeling the energy feeling into your right buttock your left buttock feeling the energy into your reproductive organs feeling the energy of your creation energy center low down in your belly that energy center is activated then moving up so if you can feel through your digestive tract moving upwards to your stomach might if you've eaten dinner you might feel or hear some noises going on there feeling into the right side of your torso the left side of your torso peeling into your lower back and your middle back your power energy center is now activated once again returning your attention to the heart space feeling the heart beating within your chest feeling the ribs expanding and contracting feeling the flesh of the right side of your chest and of the left side of your chest feeling your right armpit your right shoulder your right upper arm your right elbow your right forearm your right wrist the palm of your right hand the back of your right hand your right thumb your right forefinger your right middle finger your right ring finger your right pinky finger moving over to your left armpit your left shoulder your left upper arm your left elbow your left forearm your left wrist your left palm the back of your left hand your left thumb your left forefinger left middle finger left ring finger left pinky finger your love energy center is now activated feeling into your upper back the back of your neck and your throat your chin your lips your tongue your teeth the top of your mouth the bottom of your mouth your right cheek your right ear your left cheek your left ear your nose your truth energy center is now activated feeling into your right eye the right eyelid right eyebrow the left eye left eyelid left eyebrow feeling into your forehead noticing the center of your forehead feeling into the back of your head and the sides the right side of your head the left side of your head your insight energy center is now activated and now feeling the top of your head feel the roots of every single strand of hair feel the energy there that is connecting you with everyone and everything else with all existences in all times and all places your connection energy center is now activated taking your focus gently back to your breath noticing where you are in the room right now feeling your connection with the surface with whatever surface is supporting you when you're ready taking all the time you need you can open your eyes wiggle your fingers and your toes and go on with the rest of your evening I hope that was useful Namaste
