Practicing meditation brings several benefits to our daily life. It also focuses our attention on the most important area in our life, and that is our spirit. As we focus on our spirit and source of all creation within, we quickly realize the true benefits of meditation.

When we sit to meditate,

There are many,

Many benefits that we get that we might not even understand.

Just the process of sitting regularly,

For one,

Is making us regular,

Not only to meditate but in other activities of our life.

Secondly,

To sit and meditate is to enhance our concentration powers.

So our skills to concentrate improve so that they help us in many outward activities of our life.

Thirdly,

As we start to still ourselves,

We are bringing peace into our soul,

Into our being so that calmness and peacefulness starts to be a part of life,

Not only for the time that we meditate but for long periods of time.

Fourthly,

As we sit down to meditate,

Our attention goes in the arena which is the most important arena of our life,

Which is the spiritual arena,

Which is God,

So that the closeness to God is bound to happen.

Wherever we focus our attention,

That's what will become.

And so as we meditate,

Then we are going to be getting to a state where our closeness with God will be experienced by us more and more and more.

God is within us.

Nothing can be closer to us than God,

But we don't experience it because our mind is taking our attention,

Putting it into the world.

So as we meditate,

If we are meditating properly,

Then our attention is going on God because we are stilling our mind,

And so we are not being distracted by the vials of the mind.

And as we meditate,

Then we can connect with the creative power that brought all creation into being.

And as we connect with the creative power,

The realities of our existence start to set in,

So the truth starts to unfold to us.

Who are we?

What is our relationship with God?

How do we go back to God?

How do we get the closeness of God?

How do we experience love with the Lord?

All of that happens not because we read some books,

Not because we listen to a sermon,

But because we sit and we experience that.

And so slowly,

Slowly,

Slowly,

As we sit down to meditate regularly,

These benefits start to become a part of our life because we are now living the teachings in our life and not just hearing them and let them go out.

And so as we meditate,

Which is the first aspect of our spiritual well-being,

All of these benefits start to come into our being.

And then as we find ourselves in our places of work,

Our responses are more calmer,

Peaceful.

Our aptitude in doing things is sharper.

As concentration improves,

We produce much more.

So that aspect of life gets better.

As we experience the truth,

Then the purpose of life and how we should be spending our time gets clearer and clearer so that those things that are taking us away from God,

We filter them out.

And those which are bringing us closer to God,

Those are the arenas in which we will be spending our times.

Now as that happens,

Then we are leading our lives as we should be leading.

So meditation has many,

Many benefits.

Some of them we can see and many others which are helping our soul,

Which are kind of fine tuning us for our final merger,

A merger of a soul and God.
