Find a comfortable place,
A place where your body can rest,
Where you can simply be for the next 10 minutes.
Cover yourself with a blanket if you want to be warm.
And when you have settled,
Let's do a deep breath in through the nose,
And out through the mouth with a sound,
Again,
In through the nose.
What your body is sensing right now,
Perhaps the temperature of the air,
Or the temperature of your skin,
Name them,
Just here,
Maybe there is a faint scent in the air and notice the weight of your body,
Feel how the body settles into the surface beneath it and how that surface is holding you.
If you release every muscle right now,
The body would still be held,
It would not fall.
It is safe for your body to relax now.
Notice how your body feels today,
Whether there is tension somewhere,
Tightness,
Warmness,
Notice the emotional tone,
Whether there is a feeling in the body,
Vivid or quiet somewhere in the background,
Whether it is calm or restless,
Without judgement.
See if there is a subtle urge somewhere inside,
I thought that instead of this pose you could be doing something else,
Just notice it,
Without judgement,
Without trying to label it anyhow,
Just out of curiosity about yourself.
Sometimes it happens this way,
The body is tired,
It needs rest,
But the mind decides that stopping isn't safe and it finds reasons why now it is not the time,
But instead you chose to stay here,
You chose to do this meditation and you are doing great just by doing this.
Relaxation is a skill and it can be trained the way muscles can be trained and every time you notice the restlessness of the mind and return to the body you are training this skill.
Now,
Softly,
Let the body release,
Release your feet,
Relax your shins,
Your knees,
Your thighs,
Let them go completely,
Your legs are fully relaxed now,
Relax your hips,
Relax your chest,
Relax the space between your shoulder blades,
Relax your shoulders,
Let them drop if they haven't already,
Relax your arms,
From the shoulders all the way to the fingertips,
Relax your neck,
Relax your jaw,
Nothing to do right now,
To rush,
Nothing to prove,
No boundaries to hold,
No plans to follow,
Just being,
Just lying or sitting,
Just feeling,
Feeling this lightness without labels,
Without should or ought or must,
You are here and now,
In this moment,
Resting,
Remember it with every cell of your body and now in this state of deep relaxation,
Just notice how your mind is right now,
Enjoy the stillness,
You are enough and you are doing enough and you deserve this good deep rest and it is available to you,
It belongs to your body and it belongs to your mind,
You can come back here anytime you need it.
Let's take a deeper breath in and let's add a small movement,
Wiggling the fingers,
The toes,
Add a bit more movement and when you are here,
