Welcome to your 10-minute meditation for overwhelm and overstimulation.
I welcome you to use this meditation.
In the morning when life can feel the beat.
Too much.
Middle of the day.
Or even in your evening as a decompression practice.
I welcome you to get comfortable.
You don't have to sit perfectly.
You don't have to be completely still.
Just find a position where your body can soften a little.
And when you're ready.
And let your arms close.
Let's take a breath in through the nose.
And slowly let it go.
Again.
Breathing in.
And breathing out.
No need to force the breath.
Just notice that you're here.
If your mind feels loud right now,
That's okay.
If your body feels tense,
Irritated.
Restless.
Or like everything has just been a bit too much.
You don't have to fight that.
You don't have to become a different version of yourself in these next few minutes.
You are just giving yourself some more time.
Let yourself feel the weight of your body.
Feel whatever is underneath you.
The floor.
To change.
Couch.
Even in your car.
Notice that you're being held by something right now.
And you don't have to hold everything on your own.
Bring your attention to the breath again.
Inhale,
Maybe notice the temperature coming in.
And exhale.
You can sigh it out.
Feeling the warm breath exiting the body.
And imagine with every exhale that you're releasing a little bit of what isn't yours to carry in this moment.
The noise.
The energy of other people.
Expectations.
Unfinished conversations.
Maybe things you've been replaying.
Allow them.
To move a little farther away.
You don't have to solve anything right now.
You don't have to answer to anybody.
You don't have to know what comes next.
You don't have to figure it out right now.
Bring your awareness.
To the center of your chest.
You can place a hand there if that feels natural.
Notice the warmth of your hand.
Notice your heartbeat.
There is a part of you underneath all the noise that is there.
Quieter part.
A steadier part.
Just noticing.
Imagine your energy coming back to you.
From every conversation,
Every task.
Every room you walk into.
Every thought that produced them.
Just imagine.
Calling your energy back.
Not dramatically.
Just gently.
Back into your body.
Back into this room.
Back into this breath.
You can silently say,
I am allowed to return to myself.
I am allowed.
To move slowly.
I do not need to carry everything at once.
Take another breath in.
And as you exhale,
Let your shoulders drop.
On Crunchyroll.
Let your hands soften.
Maybe even shake your hands out a little if your body wants to move.
Shaking out any stale energy.
There is no rule.
That meditation has to look perfectly peaceful.
Sometimes your body needs to move before it can settle.
Notice the sounds around you.
You don't have to shake the world out.
Just let the sounds exist without following them.
And now I'm done.
To move through the space around you.
You are here.
And the sounds.
The Overwhelm.
The overstimulation.
The stress.
It's all over there.
Imagine roots extending down from your body into the earth beneath you.
You don't have to picture this perfectly.
Just feel the idea of being connected to something steady.
Something other than your thoughts.
Than your stress.
The ground beneath you has nowhere to rush.
Let yourself bow.
Some of that stimulus.
With your next inhale.
Imagine breathing in a little more space.
With your exhale.
Let something go.
Inhale.
Space.
Exhale.
Goodness.
Again,
Inhale.
Space.
Exhale.
Release.
If a thought comes in,
You don't have to chase it.
If another thing you need to do pops into your head.
Let it pass through.
You can come back to it later.
Not everything deserves your attention at the same time.
Bring your awareness back to your heart.
Back to your body.
Back to yourself.
Ask yourself quietly.
In your mind,
What do I actually need right now?
Don't force an answer.
Maybe it's moving.
Maybe it's risk.
Maybe it's quiet.
Maybe it's nature,
Maybe it's water.
Maybe it's to stop pushing.
For a little while.
Whatever comes up.
Just me,
You see.
Take one more deep breath in.
Belly full of air.
And slowly let it go,
Releasing all the air out of your belly,
Out of your lungs.
And remember,
You don't have to leave this meditation perfectly calm.
You don't have to feel completely reset.
If there is even a little more space inside of you than there was before.
That is enough.
Start to notice your body again.
Your fingers,
Your feet.
Of all around you.
And when you win.
Slowly open your eyes.
Take your time.
Come back gently.
And carry only what you actually need into the rest of your day.
Thank you for practicing with me and please come back to this meditation.
Anytime.
You feel it's needed and necessary.
And always remember.
It doesn't have to be perfect.
Thank you.
