PROMETHEUS' FIRE Long ago,

When the world was still new,

The gods lived on Mount Olympus,

High above the clouds.

Among them was Prometheus,

A clever and kind titan who loved humans.

Prometheus watched over the people on earth who were struggling to survive.

In those early days,

Humans didn't have fire.

They shivered in the cold,

Ate raw food,

And couldn't light the darkness.

Prometheus felt sorry for them.

He thought if only they had fire,

They could stay warm,

Cook their food,

And protect themselves.

But the king of the gods,

Zeus,

Had forbidden humans from having fire.

He believed they weren't ready for such a powerful gift.

Prometheus disagreed.

He believed humans could learn and grow if they had the tools they needed.

One night,

While Zeus and the other gods were asleep,

Prometheus hatched a daring plan.

He climbed the top of Mount Olympus and lit a torch from the sacred flames of the gods.

Carefully,

He carried the fire down the mountain and gave it to the humans.

For the first time,

People felt warmed in the cold.

They cooked their food and lit up the night.

They used the fire to build tools and create things they had only dreamed of.

Prometheus watched from afar,

Smiling,

As humans grew stronger and wiser.

But when Zeus discovered what Prometheus had done,

He was furious.

How dare you defy me,

Said Zeus.

As punishment,

Zeus chained Prometheus to a rocky mountain.

Every day,

An eagle would swoop down and peek at him.

But Prometheus never regretted his decision.

He endured his punishment with courage,

Knowing that he had helped humanity.

The story doesn't end there.

Years later,

A great hero named Heracles,

Also known as Hercules,

Came to Prometheus' rescue.

With his incredible strength,

Heracles broke the chains and set Prometheus free.

Prometheus' story became a symbol of hope and bravery.

It reminds us that even one act of kindness and courage can change the world.

The gift of fire gave humans the power to grow,

Learn,

And create,

Lighting the way for generations to come.
