This is a loving kindness meditation in honor of George Floyd for racial healing.

I invite you to get comfortable and settle into your meditation position,

Whether that is sitting or lying down,

Whatever supports your stillness while maintaining alertness.

Our intention is to honor George Floyd and to set our intentions on racial healing and loving kindness.

We'll begin with sending loving kindness to ourselves so we can share it forward.

Take a deep breath in and hold and then exhale.

Take another deep breath in and hold and let that go.

One more deep breath in and hold and let that go.

May I be well.

May I be happy.

May I be healthy.

May I be safe.

May I live with ease.

May I be well.

May I be happy.

May I be healthy.

May I be safe.

May I live with conscience and ease.

May I be well.

May I be happy.

May I be healthy.

May I be safe.

May I live with conscience and ease.

Next we set our intention for the family of George Floyd.

I like to picture his little girl surrounded by his relatives and her proclaiming that her daddy was changing the world.

See a good picture of them in your mind and repeat to yourself,

May you be well.

May you be happy.

May you be healthy.

May you be safe,

Supported and protected.

May you live with ease.

May you be well.

May you be happy.

May you be healthy.

May you be safe,

Supported and protected.

May you live with ease.

May you be well.

May you be happy.

May you be healthy.

May you be safe,

Supported and protected.

May you live with ease.

For the black community,

Our brothers and sisters who have been unsupported,

Oppressed and traumatized since their arrival in pre-colonial United States history.

May you be well.

May you be happy.

May you be healthy.

May you be safe,

Supported and protected.

May you live with ease.

May you be well.

May you be happy.

May you be healthy.

May you be safe,

Supported and protected.

May you live with ease.

May you be well.

May you be happy.

May you be healthy.

May you be safe,

Supported and protected.

May you live with ease.

For our legal system and those employed in it,

That they seek systemic change and work toward fair practices for our black brothers and sisters,

Then we can say justice for all.

May you be well.

May you be happy.

May you be healthy.

May you be safe.

May you live with conscience and ease.

May you be well.

May you be happy.

May you be healthy.

May you be safe.

May you live with conscience and ease.

May you be well.

May you be happy.

May you be healthy.

May you be safe.

May you live with conscience and ease.

For our politicians and citizen voters,

That they co-create systems that reflect equality and justice for all,

The premise that our country was built upon,

Especially for our black citizens.

And next,

For the white community,

That we step into the work we need to do to advocate for and truly make black lives matter.

May we be well.

May we be happy.

May we be healthy.

May we be safe.

May we live with conscience and ease.

May we be well.

May we be happy.

May we be healthy.

May we be safe.

May we live with conscience and ease.

May we be well.

May we be happy.

May we be healthy.

May we be safe.

May we live with conscience and ease.

We are all US and global citizens,

That we grow together in peace,

Love,

And understanding.

Namaste.

Thank you. I came in search of a meditation for MLK Day, to hold his beliefs and principles especially high today, Jan 20, 2025. This was a perfect fit.
