I am here.
I am listening.
I am here.
I am listening.
I am here.
I am listening.
We might use these words when offering support to a loved one,
Or someone we care deeply for.
And so often we forget to offer ourselves that same depth of love we so willingly hand out to others,
Leaving us feeling depleted.
Taking a few moments each day to utter these simple,
Gentle words to ourselves and listening to our body's deepest desires can be a profoundly nourishing first step in showing up for ourselves.
Close your eyes.
Notice your body.
Notice all of the sensations flowing throughout this beautiful vessel that carries you,
And the life that pulsates through your state of consciousness.
Turn your attention to your breath.
The breath that breathes itself.
The breath that is life itself.
Feel its nourishment.
Notice how you don't have to try to breathe.
It just happens.
It's not forced.
When thoughts come,
Just let them float away.
Don't judge them.
Take a moment to send your body gratitude for carrying you through the natural trials and tribulations that this world has to offer,
And for providing a safe home for your gentle soul.
Breathe.
In this moment,
You are safe,
You are home,
You are at total peace with yourself in this beautiful moment of tranquil presence.
You can so easily forget to appreciate the blessings that present moment awareness effortlessly brings.
It brings space in between our racing thoughts.
It allows us liberation from painful memories of the past.
It removes fear and worry that is born from planning for the future.
Here in this very present moment,
We are given choice.
Choice to make peace with ourselves.
Choice to be kinder to ourselves,
And offer our heart the compassion and love it has been calling out for for so long.
And yet we missed its gentle whispers in the chaos of our chattering mind.
Breathe.
Place both hands on your heart.
My heart,
What do you need?
I know I have ignored your cries for attention,
But I am here now.
I am listening.
What do you need?
My heart,
I promise to be kinder to you.
I promise to cherish you like I cherish the hearts of those I hold dear to me.
I promise to be more forgiving and less critical of your tenderness.
In the busyness of everyday life,
I always know that I can come home to this place.
This place of tranquil presence.
This place of loving safety that cradles me when I feel depleted of energy.
When I feel depleted of affection,
Attention and compassion.
This is where home is.
My heart,
I love you.
