Welcome to this meditation.
Very often we focus on all the difficulties and negative things about our menopause.
So I'd like to spend this time with you,
Reflecting on the many positive aspects of the menopause journey.
In traditional Chinese medicine,
This time in a woman's life is referred to as her second spring.
It's considered to be a powerful time of rebirth.
It represents a renewal of energy and opportunities.
A time to honour all the wisdom and experience you've gathered in the course of your life.
So let's get really comfortable now and I invite you to be wide open to the potential of this time in your life.
Maybe it's a time of liberation.
A time to re-prioritise your values and what matters to you.
It could be a time to reframe your purpose or to spend more time doing activities you love.
Perhaps there's more time in your life now to go within and connect with your true self.
But right now,
You don't need to know.
It's enough just to be here,
With a willingness to be wide open to all possibilities.
Let's take a few low and slow breaths.
Inhaling right down into your belly.
And exhaling with a long and soft sigh.
Really taking your time.
Slowing your breath right down.
Inhaling like you have all the time in the world.
And just letting it all go as you exhale right to the very end.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Inhaling and exhaling.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Inhaling low and slow.
Exhaling just letting it all go.
Inhaling deeply.
And exhaling slowly.
Inhaling belly rises.
Exhaling belly drops.
Taking as many of these slow and low breaths as your mind and body need to settle down.
Feeling the movement of your breath.
The sensation in the inner passageways of your nostrils.
Noticing the parts of your body that move as it breathes.
Let the weight of your whole body be held.
Feel the inside of the mouth.
Let the hinges of your jaw loosen.
A softening of the whole face.
Lower jaw surrendering to gravity.
The eyes softening right back.
The whole area around and behind eyes softening.
Forehead smooth.
Shoulders sinking down.
Hips releasing their weight.
Feeling your whole body.
And allowing your body to soften just a little more.
Right now let yourself just be here.
Just as you are.
Absolutely nothing to do.
Absolutely nowhere to go.
It's too much effort now to make anything happen.
Don't even try to control your mind.
Just resting here quietly.
Wide open to whatever wants to be seen.
Heard.
Felt.
And released.
And any time you leave,
Just gently coming back to right here.
Right now.
What does your heart long for for this time in your life?
What wants to emerge from your deepest,
Truest self?
What's ready to drop away?
How would you like to show up in the world for this chapter of your life?
I invite you to see your menopause not as a time of loss or diminishment but as a time of great gain and increase.
Welcome the feeling of your whole body.
Whole body.
Alive with sensation.
Feel the sensation in the palms.
Let that feeling come to you.
Feel the aliveness of your whole body.
The touch of air on the skin.
Feel the pulsation as heart beats.
Feel the pulsation as your heart beats.
Noticing the movement of your breath.
Inviting your breath to deepen again.
Taking a few more of those slow and low breaths.
Inhaling right down into your belly.
And exhaling with a long and soft sigh.
Inhaling and exhaling.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Inhaling all the possibilities of this time in your life.
Exhaling all the old stories that keep you stuck.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Inhaling and exhaling.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Inhaling deeply.
And exhaling slowly.
And as you continue to breathe slowly and deeply,
Let the inhalation be a receiving of all that your heart longs for.
And let the exhalation be a dropping away of all that holds you back.
Allow your body to move now in whatever way feels good.
And as you return to your day,
Be wide open to the possibility that the best of your life is yet to come.
And take some time each day to reconnect with the wise woman within you.
I wish you well on your menopause journey and I sincerely hope that for you it's an opportunity for self discovery,
Ever greater self love,
Recognizing your innate worth and letting go of all that no longer serves you.
Thank you for joining me for this meditation.
