I know it's a little bit mind-blowing to hear this,
Literally.
But thoughts are not reality.
They're commenting on,
They're interpreting,
Trying to describe.
Reality.
And I feel this is so helpful to understand.
When we're learning to step back and observe our thoughts,
Observe our overactive mind and use it as the tool it was always meant to be.
Instead of letting it be the master that's running our whole Learning how to.
Let the mind be our beautiful beloved.
Serving.
The tool.
I feel so common in this Vatan.
We walk along and we're so crazy identified.
With our thoughts.
Then we don't even.
.
.
See how there is a voice in our head that is constantly talking,
Constantly commenting,
Interpreting,
Labeling,
Putting in boxes.
We're not even.
.
.
Aware of it.
Often it's seen as so.
Comment.
In fact,
If you would say that you have a voice in your head.
Most people would think you're crazy.
When we all have that.
And nothing is wrong with that.
Nothing and nobody.
Needs to be judged.
It's just very.
.
.
Helpful to.
Understand this in order for us to become more aware.
And realize how our thoughts are pulling us into a trance.
Pulling us out of the present moment and how It's actually absolute majority of the time.
Our thoughts then make us.
Suffer.
When we get The text message from.
.
.
Somebody from a partner and maybe it's a little bit too late and our thoughts are saying well he doesn't love you he never did here is the proof that's an interpretation of what is actually happening.
When he or she was just texting later than usual.
Or somebody is cutting us off in traffic and our mind is instantly interpreting this as,
I'm not being respected.
I need to stand my ground and stand up for what's right.
In the beginning I was saying that our thoughts usually Comment on like.
Or they interpret.
This is what they do.
These two examples,
That's what our thoughts most of the time are doing.
And when we start to observe our thoughts more,
Observe our mind,
We realize.
This edit.
Story to what is actually.
Happening.
The edit interpretation of it that is filtered through my sense of self.
And our separateness.
Me being here,
You being over there,
And you're doing something to me.
And of course,
To some degree on some layer.
That is true.
But there is a deeper layer which we have almost forgotten.
In this society today and we're rediscovering.
The layer of oneness.
The layer deeper than that.
That it is,
In fact,
Possible.
To be.
Without.
That is inner silence.
And it is possible,
Not by rejecting thoughts,
Not by suppressing thought,
Not by trying to get rid of thought.
By by allowing thoughts,
Observing them.
And then dropping deeper into this inner silence.
The space beneath thought,
Beneath the overactive mind.
That you have always being in your deepest layer.
That is so liberating.
Because from that place.
.
.
Of observing thought,
Allowing it,
Not rejecting it.
We're becoming more aware and thus we can use the mind as a tool and the mind is servant.
And who you really are.
You are the master.
Who can consciously choose to believe that or not to believe that.
To think or even not to think,
Even if it's just for one Instant.
And there is this third thing I was saying.
Thoughts too,
Which is to describe.
There is a painting.
Where Very sad.
Beautiful pipe painted on a canvas.
And beneath it,
It says,
This is not a pipe.
What do you mean that's not a pipe?
Of course that's a pipe.
It's a painting of a pipe.
That's what the painter intended to point to.
It is a painting of a pipe.
Or even deeper.
Isn't?
Hype the word itself.
Is that like inherently connected to that object?
Or is it just our own mental labeling,
The description of it,
That helps us in everyday life?
To interact and communicate.
But it's not inherently that object.
It's like the finger pointing to the moon.
Is not the moon.
That's a beautiful saying.
Thing in the sand.
And there is another.
I think not a painting but an art piece.
Where there is a chair.
And right next to it,
A painting of a church.
And it says below or somewhere next to it.
This is not.
And sharing.
It's the same thing.
Oh,
And mine's like,
Of course,
That's a chair.
What do you mean?
But we have collectively agreed in language that this word chair is a description of that object.
Of an object with maybe a certain use.
And in that way,
The mind is very helpful.
It's a beautiful servant.
It's a beautiful tool.
The thoughts,
The voice in our head.
It is a beautiful tool that can help us in everyday life to communicate and do certain tasks.
But in order for us not to suffer.
Beneath our own thoughts.
We need to learn to.
Observe the thoughts.
And not getting lost.
In them.
Meaning when we're in the car and the person has already cut us off.
And for the next hour we're driving home and we keep on thinking about how this person did us wrong.
And how whatever we wish for that person,
How I was right.
That is not actually helpful.
It's not fruitful thinking.
It's not solution-oriented.
It doesn't help us in any way whatsoever.
It's just that it's this trance our thoughts are pulling us in.
When it's the master.
We get addicted to it.
We get our sense of self from it because I was cut off from that person in traffic.
And who does she or he think he is?
Cut me off.
I was right.
By the rules of traffic,
I was right.
Imagine what could have happened.
So nothing is wrong with that.
But they are not ultimately.
Commenting on,
Describing,
Interpreting.
Reality.
And just very gently.
Very lovingly,
Letting ourselves Lean back and observe the voice in our head more and more.
Is the key to A life with way less.
Suffering.
When the mind is what it was always supposed to be.
To warm.
And beautiful.
Servant.
