Welcome everyone to this meditation practice about adaptability,
Flowing,
Going with the flow,
Movement and change.
So go ahead and find a nice comfortable seat.
It can be up on some blankets or towels.
You can be Lying down,
Relax with your eyes closed,
Whatever you're needing for today,
Okay?
It'll just be a short meditation practice.
Take a deep breath in and just exhale it out,
A long exhale.
And really allow yourself to arrive here.
Feel the ground beneath you.
Steady,
Quiet,
Supportive.
Take a long,
Slow breath in.
And another long,
Slow breath out.
For these next few moments.
Imagine.
That you are standing beside a gentle river,
A stream.
And notice how the water moves.
It doesn't hurry.
It doesn't hold itself still.
It simply moves.
In response to what is there.
Flowing around stones.
Softening around the edges.
And changing direction when it needs to.
And most importantly,
Continuing on.
Allow your breath to begin to feel like that water.
Inhaling.
And exhaling.
Nothing forced.
Nothing held too tightly.
Adjust movement.
Just breath.
Just this moment.
Perhaps you begin to notice that your body has its own rhythm too.
Subtle sway.
Softening through the shoulders.
A little more space through the ribs.
You don't have to decide exactly how to move.
Just let yourself listen.
There is a kind of dance that begins when we stop trying to control every step.
A dance between strength and softness.
Between effort and ease.
Between holding on and letting go.
Imagine your body becoming like the water.
Fluid enough to change.
Strong enough to continue.
And soft enough to receive.
You do not need to push your way forward.
Water rarely does.
It finds an opening.
Moves around what cannot be moved.
It rests when it reaches stillness.
And begins again when the current calls.
Take another slow breath in.
And as you breathe out,
Soften somewhere you've been holding.
Your jaw.
Your shoulders.
Your belly.
Your hand.
Let this practice remind you that you are allowed to move with life rather than against it.
To bend without losing yourself.
To change direction without believing you've lost your way.
Pause without believing you have stopped.
And when you're ready to move into your day,
Your practice.
Whatever it is for you,
Carry this feeling with you.
Let each movement become part of the dance.
No perfect shape.
No perfect rhythm.
Only listening.
Only flowing.
Take one more breath in.
And a long exhale out.
May you move like water today.
Soft where you can be,
Strong where you need to be.
And willing to trust the flow.
Namaste
