Welcome.
My name is Stacy.
Today I will be guiding you through a gentle self-reiki practice designed simply as a place to slow down.
To settle your attention.
And to give yourself a little time to be still.
You do not need any previous experience with Reiki to participate.
And there isn't a right or wrong way to do this.
I will guide you through some traditional Reiki hand positions,
Inviting you to place your hands on different areas of the body.
You can follow along with the placements I suggest,
Or simply rest your hands wherever they feel most comfortable.
The physical practice of placing your hands on yourself can be soothing in its own right.
But it's not necessary.
Because this is a recorded practice.
You can return to it whenever you need.
As I begin.
I will set the intention that this Reiki practice is available to everyone who listens.
Whenever and wherever you happen to be.
If a hand placement location is unclear,
Please remain just as you are.
Join back in when you feel ready.
If throughout this session you drift off into sleep.
That is wonderful.
Your subconscious can continue to receive my words while your body rests.
Immersed in the gentle Reiki energy surrounding you.
There is nothing you need to do.
Simply allow yourself to receive the rest,
Peace,
And stillness of this moment.
You do not have to make anything happen.
You do not have to clear your mind.
You do not have to feel relaxed before we begin.
Just give yourself permission to be here for a little while.
Take this moment to find a comfortable position.
You might be lying down,
Sitting comfortably.
Or resting somewhere that feels supportive.
Allow your eyes to close if that feels comfortable for you.
Just notice where you are.
Notice the surface underneath you.
Notice the places where your body is supported.
There is nowhere you need to get to.
Nothing you need to accomplish during this practice.
The next little while,
You can simply pause.
Take a slow,
Comfortable breath in.
And allow that breath to leave without forcing it.
Again,
Breathing in gently.
And letting that breath go.
You do not need to change your breathing pattern.
Just simply be aware of its presence.
Notice the movement of your body as you breathe.
Notice your shoulders.
Your jaw.
Your hands.
Near Bali.
And if you notice any tension,
You do not have to make it disappear.
Simply notice it.
Perhaps you slowly allow yourself to soften around it.
As you settle here,
Bring your attention to your hands.
Notice their temperature.
Their weight.
The feelings of your fingers.
When you feel ready.
You will bring your hands to the first position I will guide you into.
From there,
We will move slowly through a series of self-reiki positions.
Each hand position will be held for several minutes.
During that time.
Music will play softly in the background.
There is no need to concentrate.
No need to try to direct anything.
Simply be present with the sensation of your hand.
Your breath.
And your body.
If at any point a hand position does not feel comfortable,
Please feel free to change it.
Your comfort comes first.
As we begin moving through the self-reiki positions.
I will guide you clearly through each placement.
As a gentle reminder,
You do not need to make every position perfect.
Simply follow the general location I described.
And allow your hands to rest there comfortably.
Let us begin by bringing your hands to the crown of your head.
Resting them gently over the top of your head,
Wherever feels natural.
When you are ready,
Allow your hands to move down your forehead.
You can rest the palms of your hands softly over your eyes.
With your fingers draped gently over your forehead.
Or Place your fingertips wherever feels most comfortable.
Your eyelids remain closed softly without creating creases.
The palms of your hands blocking all remaining light.
And allow you to settle into your practice.
Allow you to feel safe.
From here,
Bring your hands to the sides of your face.
Allow your palms to rest on your face between your cheeks and your chin.
Your fingers.
Point towards your hairline at the height of your ears.
Move your hands down to your throat.
You may place one hand on either side of your neck or simply rest your hands across your upper chest if that is your preference.
Follow the curvature of your neck till your hands drape over your shoulders.
Your palms in the area of your collarbones with fingers in a relaxed position over the shoulders towards your back.
Your arms can remain side by side or can be crossed at your chest if that feels more accessible or more comfortable.
Pivot one hand to cover your throat as the second slides down to settle over the center of your chest.
Around the heart space.
There is no need to press or apply any pressure with either of your hands.
Just let them be supported by your body.
Experience the breath moving through your body beneath the palms of your hands.
When you are ready,
Move your hands down to your upper abdomen,
Just below the ribcage.
Your fingertips facing one another,
With the palms resting on the sides of your ribcage.
Next,
Allow your hands to slide further down the abdomen.
Just below the navel.
The hands rest softly.
Effortlessly on the belly.
As it rises and falls with breath.
If it is within your reach to do so.
Place the palm of each hand on the thigh.
Right hand on the right side.
Left hand rests on the left thigh.
And reaching for the thighs.
Feels too strenuous.
Allow the hands to remain on the abdomen.
With the hands on the abdomen.
You can simply imagine.
The palms resting on the thigh.
And the contact between the two.
Remain in stillness.
Fully aware of the presence of your love.
It's time.
The muscle.
And the bone.
Melting into stillness.
And now.
.
.
Rather than reaching down towards your feet.
Simply bring your awareness to them.
Notice your feet resting beneath you.
Notice their weight.
Their warmth.
And the sensation of being supported by the surface beneath you.
There is nothing you need to change or do with your feet.
Simply allow your awareness to travel all the way down your body.
From the crown of your head to the soles of your feet.
If you are choosing to allow yourself to drift off into sleep.
You're welcome to do so.
Allowing my voice to grow more distant.
Begin to echo and drift away.
If you would rather.
You may now slowly begin to bring your awareness back into the space around you.
Notice the surface supporting your body.
Notice the temperature of the air against your skin.
Become aware of the natural rhythm of your breath.
There is no need to rush.
Begin to gently move your fingers and your toes.
Inviting a little movement back into the body.
When you are ready.
Take a slow,
Deeper breath in.
And allow it to leave your body completely.
You might gently roll your shoulders.
Stretch your arms or your legs and make whatever small movements feel good to you.
And when it feels right,
Slowly open your eyes.
Take a moment before you move on with your day.
Notice how you feel now.
Without needing to change or judge anything.
Carry this sense of quiet.
Of softness and of peace with you as you return to the rest of your day.
Thank yourself for taking this time to rest.
To reconnect.
And simply to be.
