Longing

Longing, which means 思念 in Chinese was my first original piece of music played by my Native American Flute G#. This is a piece that was secretly created in my mind for a long time whenever I think of my late father who passed on in July 2009. This tune has been ringing in my mind until I decided to perform the full piece for the first time on 1st July 2023.

Even though it is a short piece of 1min 27sec, most people felt emotional when they listened for the first time. Some felt heartache and some started to miss someone. When this piece is performed live, it is very common to have audiences to start tearing. I hope that through this piece, I can give those who need a reason to let out their emotions to do so. May whoever listened to Longing 思念 feel released and find peace eventually.
