If your mind won't stop.
If it keeps replaying,
Predicting,
Rehearsing,
Or trying to solve everything at once.
This reset is for right now.
You don't need to force your mind to be quiet.
You don't need to figure everything out.
For the next few minutes,
We are simply going to come back to what is actually here.
Feel the surface beneath you the chair,
The bed.
The floor beneath your feet.
Notice three places where your body is being supported Now look around if your eyes are open.
And notice three things you can see.
Nothing important.
Nothing you need to analyze.
Just three things that are here.
Now notice one sound,
Near or far.
Let your attention rest there for just a moment.
Your thoughts may still be moving.
That's okay.
You don't have to stop them.
Just bring to mind the thought that keeps circling the most.
One thought.
Not the entire story.
And ask yourself What do I actually know right now?
Not what you fear.
Not what you assume.
Not what you think might happen.
What do you actually know?
Let the answer be simple Maybe you know a conversation happened.
Maybe you know something needs your attention tomorrow.
Maybe you know that you feel unsettled Maybe you know that you simply do not have enough information yet.
Now ask.
What is my mind adding to the story?
What is it predicting?
What is it rehearsing?
What is it trying to solve before it can actually be solved?
Notice the difference.
There is what you know.
And then there is what your mind is doing with what you know.
They are not always the same thing.
Take one slow breath.
Comfortable breath in and let it go.
Now ask yourself.
Is there anything I need to do about this right now?
Right now,
In this moment.
If there is one useful action you can take.
Just one.
Maybe you need to make a mental note or write that down.
Set a reminder.
Ask a question later Maybe have a conversation tomorrow.
Name the next step.
Any of those useful actions and let one step be enough.
If there's nothing useful you can do right now,
Let that be information too.
You do not have to keep mentally working on something simply because it is unresolved.
Feel the support beneath your body again.
Notice your feet.
Your shoulders.
And if there is any place you are holding more tightly than you need to.
Allow just a little less effort.
Quietly say to yourself.
.
.
I do not have to solve this right now.
Again.
I do not have to solve this right now.
Now notice one thing that is okay in this moment.
Not perfectly.
Not completely resolved.
Just okay.
Maybe.
It's that your body is supported.
Maybe it's that you have somewhere safe to be.
Maybe it's that nothing is being asked of you for these few minutes.
Maybe it's just right now,
You are simply here.
Let that be enough.
Before we close,
Complete these three sentences quietly to yourself.
What I know is.
.
.
What my mind is adding is.
And what I need right now is.
.
.
That is your reset.
You do not need every answer in order to return to yourself.
You do not need to follow every thought simply because it appears.
You can come back to what is known.
Come back to what is here.
If this practice helped,
Save it here on Insight Timer so you can return whenever your mind starts running ahead of you.
For now,
Let this be enough.
