Arriving gently into this moment,
Allowing a small pause.
Nothing needs to be solved.
Nothing needs to be changed.
Just a quiet space for noticing.
Beginning by sensing your body resting here.
Feeling the weight of the body supported by the surface beneath you.
Perhaps,
Noticing the contact between the body and the chair,
Or bed,
Or floor,
Or wherever the body is resting.
Allowing awareness to settle softly into the body.
There may be sensations present,
Warmth,
Pressure,
Subtle movement,
Stillness,
Or very little sensation at all.
Simply allowing whatever is here to be noticed.
Gently widening awareness to include the inner emotional space.
Not trying to analyze,
Not trying to understand,
Just sensing.
Sometimes emotions move through the nervous system like weather,
Clouds passing through the sky,
Wind moving through the air,
A shift in the atmosphere.
Gently becoming curious about the emotional weather inside right now.
Perhaps there is calm.
Perhaps there is tension,
Or restlessness,
Or something harder to name.
There may be even more than one emotional tone present.
Parts of the system feeling steady.
Other parts feeling unsettled.
Both can exist at the same time.
Allowing awareness to notice where emotions may appear in the body.
Perhaps heaviness in the chest,
Tightness in the throat,
Or warmth in the belly.
Subtle energy moving somewhere in the body.
Sometimes emotions appear more as sensations than as clear labels.
Allowing those sensations to be included within awareness,
Nothing needing to change.
Just like weather patterns,
Emotional states often move and shift on their own.
Sometimes quickly,
At times slowly,
And sometimes they stay for a while.
For a few quiet moments,
Allowing awareness to remain with the emotional atmosphere of the body.
Being curious,
Staying open,
Allowing.
Noticing the body breathing naturally,
The quiet rhythm of life moving through the body.
Gradually sensing the whole body again.
From the feet to the head.
One living system,
Sensing and feeling.
Gently becoming aware of the space around the body,
The room,
The environment.
Returning slowly.
Carrying with you the simple recognition that emotions can be noticed and held with awareness.
