This is a short rest practice designed to help you ease into slumber. You will be guided into deeper relaxation through imagery and energy points throughout the body. Inspired by my daughters' bedtime routine, this practice is appropriate for adults, children & families to listen together. Some nights we need a little support to hold us as we drift off.

Hi there.

Here's a little something to help you ease into slumber wherever you are,

Wherever you are resting.

Find your pillows,

Your blankets,

Whatever would help you be as comfortable as possible for you right now.

Adjust those pillows and blankets,

Whatever you have,

Until you find some comfort.

Then you might gently close your eyes and take a few deep breaths,

Breathing in fully through the nose,

Filling the lungs all the way to the top,

And then exhaling fully through the mouth,

Letting the breath go.

Again,

A deep breath in through the nose and all the way out through the mouth.

Another breath like that,

Centering yourself,

Moving into more ease as you move closer to sleep.

Then start to bring into your mind's eye your attention at the center of your forehead,

At your third eye center,

And imagine a little bit of starlight there,

A bright twinkling light right at the center of the forehead,

And then at the tip of the nose and the tip of the chin,

A line of stars down the center of your face.

Notice a star begin to appear at the center of the chest and the tips of both shoulders.

Stars begin to form at your elbows,

Your wrists,

And the center of your palms.

Starlight at the tips of your thumbs,

Your index fingers,

Your middle fingers,

Ring fingers,

And pinky fingers.

Starlight traveling down the face,

Across the chest,

And down both arms,

All the way to the tips of the fingers.

Starlight begins to grow at the solar plexus,

Just below the chest bones,

At navel center,

And the center of the pelvis.

Stars appear at the hip bones,

The knees,

And the ankle joints.

Starlight at the center of your feet,

The tips of your big toes,

Second toes,

Third toes,

Fourth toes,

And little toes.

Stars are now covering down the face,

Across the chest,

Down both arms,

Down the center of the body,

Down both legs,

Spanning the feet.

A whole constellation of you.

A constellation of stars that is perfectly you.

You might imagine this constellation of stars floating in the night sky,

Snuggled in near the moonlight.

You might look around in your mind's eye and see other constellations nearby,

Ones that bring you comfort or story.

You might feel the gentle sway of a breeze,

The comfort of a cloud passing by,

As you rest into this constellation of you.

Continuing to breathe long and deep until you make your way off to sleep.

Sweet dreams.
