Transcript

This short meditation helps you close out your work day and hopefully leave the pressures behind you.

So finding a comfortable seated position,

Or if you're already at home,

You can lie down and let your arms rest comfortably by your sides.

And let's start with a deep breath in and a slow breath out.

Again breathing in deeply and exhaling slowly.

And I want you to picture your day like wearing a heavy backpack.

You've been carrying it all day,

It's full of tasks,

Thoughts and responsibilities.

And what I want you to do is imagine yourself slowly setting that backpack down because you don't need to carry it anymore tonight.

You're going to let your breath help you to release.

You're going to inhale clarity.

You're going to exhale and let go.

So inhaling in the ease and exhaling tension.

And with each breath,

You allow yourself to unwind just a little bit more.

And now I want you to silently repeat to yourself,

I'm off the clock.

I'm allowed to rest.

This moment is mine.

Let yourself rest in that space.

And if thoughts come up,

Which they will,

Just let them pass by like clouds in the sky.

You don't need to follow them.

You don't need to hold on to them.

Notice them and let them go.

Now returning to your breath,

Steady,

Calm and gentle.

Take one more deep breath in and a full breath out.

And slowly and gently bring some movement back to your body.

Small stretches,

A gentle roll of the neck or the shoulders,

Whatever feels good.

You've just made space to transition from your day.

The day is done and your rest is well deserved.

Well paced, well said, great topic and gently but firmly let me “release my backpack of worries” at the door of my bedroom to relax with this meditation and sleep in bliss. Blessings everyone! Warmly, Anne
