With a lyrical embrace of both light and dark, this poem reminds us that we are enough, just as we are. Let it guide you into sleep with softness, love, and the comforting truth that you are not alone in this dance of existence.

Rise and fall,

A bedtime poem.

Here is what I know.

Things change.

The world.

Life gets in the way.

Things start to expand and then collapse.

Things start going your way and then they don't.

There is a rise and there is a fall and lying beneath it all is the same self,

The same you and me.

And goodness and love and joy and uncertainty and suffering and pain.

What one day works may never again.

What one day we know the next may forget.

This is what I know.

This day,

Today,

Is one that will never come again.

What comes next,

I can't imagine to begin to know,

But this I know.

I will face it with all the strength that's brought me to this moment here and now.

And with that,

In each moment,

We all will get through.

We all will make it,

Me and you.

Everything that comes our way,

We can handle.

We are allowed to have our say.

And how that goes,

And how we respond,

And how we show up,

And how we bond,

My love,

My friend,

Until world's end,

You are the good,

The bad,

The light,

The dark,

The evenness.

You are what is smooth and what is rough.

You are what's easy and what is tough.

You are the dance,

The subtle swoon.

You are the stars.

You are the moon.

Let this day rest.

Let it be at peace with so much ease.

And until the morning comes,

Dream sweetly.

This I know.
