This is a reclaim the body meditation,
A moment for you to connect to yourself,
To come back home to this amazing piece of nature that is your body,
That is you.
Take a moment to feel if you're sitting or laying in a position that you're comfortable in,
Maybe you want a pillow or a blanket,
And then feel yourself sinking,
Sinking into this moment,
Feel yourself sinking into yourself.
We can be so scattered,
Our thoughts can go to tomorrow and yesterday,
But the body is always in the moment,
So take this moment to gather yourself here in yourself,
In your body.
Hello amazing body,
I am here with you and you belong with me.
And then feel the places that touch,
The places in your body that touch the floor or a bed,
And just take your time moving from one place to another,
Not rushing by,
But here I feel my legs for example,
Touching,
And then you go to your belly,
Put your hands on your belly to start.
How does this actually feel?
And we're going to go very slow,
There's no rush.
How does it feel in your belly?
And how does it feel to have the touch of your own hands there?
Move your hands to another place,
Maybe more to the sides or more to the rims.
How strange it is that we don't feel every millimeter of ourselves.
And how wonderful to reconnect,
To come home to every little cell.
And if you wander off,
You just bring yourself back,
Feeling your own belly,
Feeling your belly and inviting your belly to loosen.
There's all this chronic tension that we carry,
But our body functions so much better and we feel so much better.
If we can let go,
You can always thank this tension,
Thank you lovely tension for all your hard work,
Trying to keep me safe and protected,
But it's okay,
You can have a break.
And maybe you feel your belly softening.
Now lay your hands back where they were and see if you can still bring your attention,
Keep your attention there in your own belly.
Every small step is valuable,
It's like a little bead that you put on a chain.
The bead seems small,
But all the beads together make something so much bigger.
And from that belly and that feeling that you have there now,
Maybe before we close off,
You can imagine that this feeling could spread like a stain of oil and just see how big you can make that stain.
This practice is not about discipline,
It's about remembering,
Reconnecting.
Like a light in your belly,
Growing bigger.
Maybe you can feel the whole of you with this light,
Maybe it just stays in the belly.
Just remember that every little moment matters in reclaiming ourselves,
Coming back home to ourselves.
Now rub your hands together,
Warm them up,
And lay them on your face,
Over your eyes.
Feel how the touch of your hands on your face relaxes some of these facial muscles.
And then slowly start looking around,
But keeping that connection to yourself,
To your belly.
And enjoy.
Namaste.
