Hey,
Welcome to Healing Arts Collective.
I'm Shelly,
A therapeutic arts healer and empowerment coach.
Welcome everyone.
Today we're diving into a topic that might hit close to home for many of us.
The idea that loving yourself first might sometimes trigger a sense of guilt.
But let me be crystal clear,
Self-care isn't selfish.
It's the cornerstone of a life filled with fulfillment and happiness.
With that,
Let's begin today's talk.
In a world that constantly demands our attention and energy,
It's easy to forget that we are just as deserving of our own care and compassion.
Often,
The notion of putting ourselves first feels like a betrayal,
Especially when we have responsibilities,
Commitments,
And the needs of others tugging at our sleeves.
But let me share a secret with you.
Self-love isn't a limited resource.
It's not a pie that if you take a slice leaves less for others.
In fact,
The more you nourish your wellbeing,
The more you have to give to the people and causes that matter to you.
Imagine this,
You're a vessel,
And your love and energy are the water that fills it.
If you neglect to replenish that vessel,
It will eventually run dry,
Leaving you unable to share your light with the world.
Self-care isn't about taking from others.
It's about refilling your vessel so you can overflow with the goodness that spills over into the lives of those around you.
So let's shed the guilt,
My friends.
Loving yourself first isn't an act of indulgence.
It's an act of self-preservation.
It's about acknowledging that you deserve to be cared for just as much as everyone else.
Think about it.
You wouldn't hesitate to offer comfort,
Support,
And kindness to a friend in need.
Why would you deny yourself that same type of love?
Now,
How do we put this into practice?
How do we prioritize self-love without feeling like we're stealing from someone else's cup?
Start small.
Begin by carving out moments for yourself,
Moments that are solely dedicated to your well-being.
It could be a peaceful walk,
Reading a book,
Practicing mindfulness,
Or indulging in a hobby you adore.
As you create these pockets of time,
Remind yourself that you are nurturing your own garden,
Tending to the seeds of your joy and resilience.
And guess what?
When you start to embrace this self-love,
You'll notice something remarkable happening.
You'll begin to radiate positivity.
The love you've cultivated within will spill out into your interactions,
Infusing your relationships with authenticity,
Warmth,
And empathy.
So my friends,
Let's rewrite the narrative that loving yourself first is something to be ashamed of.
Instead,
Let's celebrate it as a gift to ourselves and to the world.
Remember that self-care isn't a detour.
It's a vital part of the journey toward becoming the best version of yourself.
You're not stealing from anyone else's plate.
You're filling your own cup.
And from its abundance,
You can offer kindness,
Compassion,
And love to others.
The guilt,
Leave it behind.
Embrace the art of self-care with open arms,
Knowing that the more you love yourself,
The more you have to give.
Your well-being matters,
And the world is a better place when you shine brightly.
