Welcome.
I'm Lisa Böhmermann.
Thank you for joining my series From Time to Rhythm.
In this first session,
Time and the Human Condition,
I will explore what happens when life becomes ruled by the clock.
And how we can begin returning to a more natural rhythm.
Wherever you are right now,
Whether you are beginning your day,
Taking a break?
Or winding down in the evening.
I invite you to arrive fully in this moment.
Notice your breath.
Allow your shoulders to soften.
Feel the support beneath you.
There is nowhere else you need to be right now.
Nothing you need to accomplish.
Nothing you need to figure out.
Just this moment.
Just this breath.
And just this opportunity to pause.
Today you will begin the journey called From Time to Rhythm.
A journey that invites you to explore a simple yet profound question.
Are you living according to the demands of time?
Or are you living according to the rhythms of life?
Most of us live by the clock.
We wake up by the clock.
Walk by the clock.
Eat by the club.
Schedule all conversations by the clock.
And often even our rest is scheduled by the clock.
Many of us have become so accustomed to measuring life by minutes,
Deadlines,
And productivity that we rarely stop to ask,
What is all this rushing for?
And what might we be missing while we rush?
There's nothing wrong with time.
Time helps us organize our lives.
The challenge begins when time becomes our master instead of our servant.
When every moment feels like it should be used.
Improved,
Optimized.
When slowing down feels uncomfortable or even irresponsible.
And yet,
Beneath all the doing,
Many people carry a quiet longing.
A longing for space.
For ease.
For enoughness.
For a way of living that feels more natural.
More human.
More life!
I invite you to reflect gently.
Not to analyse.
Simply to notice.
Where in your life do you feel most rushed?
Where do you experience pressure?
What repeatedly leaves you feeling that there is not enough time.
Allow the questions to settle.
There is no need to answer immediately.
Sometimes awareness itself is enough.
You may notice this all happens in the mind.
The mind moves in time.
And the body lives in rhythm.
And life itself unfolds through rhythm.
Over the years,
I have noticed myself that whenever I feel overwhelmed,
It is often not because there is too much life.
But because I have lost touch with my natural rhythm.
In nature,
The ocean does not rush.
The seasons do not rush.
The flower does not hurry to bloom.
And yet everything arrives in its own time.
Rhythm is alive and includes variation.
Really thinking.
And breathing out.
Sleeping.
And waking.
Activity.
And rest.
Speaking.
And listening.
Even our hearts beat in rhythm.
Life itself seems to move in cycles rather than straight lines.
Many of us have forgotten how to listen to those rhythms.
Instead,
We often push through fatigue.
Ignore our need for rest.
Rush through transitions.
And wonder why they feel disconnected.
Attention.
And restlessness.
Perhaps the invitation.
.
.
Is not to manage time better.
Perhaps the invitation is to remember rhythm.
In this moment,
Ask yourself,
When do you feel most in flow?
When do you feel most connected to life?
And when do you feel truly in sync with your life?
Perhaps it is wild walking in nature.
Listening to music.
Gardening.
Cooking.
Being with someone you love.
Sitting quietly with a cup of tea or coffee.
Notice whatever comes up.
These moments often reveal the places where rhythm is present.
Now I'd like to invite you to a brief meditation.
If it feels comfortable.
Allow your eyes to close.
Bring your attention to your breath.
No need to change anything.
Simply notice.
Inhale.
Exhale.
The natural rhythm already occurring.
Life breathing itself through you.
Notice that the breath is not mechanical.
It has a quality.
The texture.
The rhythm.
And perhaps you can sense that beneath the busyness of the mind,
A rhythm is present.
Equatorialism.
The rhythm of simply being alive.
The body begins to settle into its own rhythm.
For the next few moments,
Rest here.
Listening.
Breathing.
Allowing.
As you complete your first session,
I invite you to carry one question into the coming days.
Where in your life are you following the pressure of time?
And where are you following the rhythm of life?
You do not need to change anything right away.
Simply notice.
Become curious.
Become aware.
Sometimes transformation begins not with action.
But with attention.
Thank you for sharing this time with me today.
You have taken a first step of the series from time to rhythm.
I look forward to continuing this journey with you in the next session.
Exploring the forgotten language of rhythm.
Until then.
May you find moments to pause.
To listen.
And to remember.
Remember the rhythm that has always been here.
Quietly waiting for your attention.
You you
