How many times today have you looked at someone and measured yourself against them?
Maybe it was a stranger at the grocery store,
A friend in a photo,
Or even a younger version of you.
Most of us do it so often we barely notice.
And almost nobody talks about it.
So let's talk about it,
Just for a few minutes,
Here,
Together.
Find a position that feels comfortable for you,
Seated or lying down.
Then let your eyes close or soften your gaze toward the floor.
Take a slow breath in through your nose.
And let it go through your mouth.
One more,
Breathe in.
And let it go.
And now let your breath find its own rhythm,
Nothing to fix,
Nothing to change.
Bring to mind a moment when you compared your body to someone else's.
You don't need to judge it,
Just notice it.
What were the words you said to yourself?
Now notice where that moment lives in your body.
Maybe a tightness in your chest,
A heaviness in your belly,
A clench in your jaw.
Whatever you find,
Breathe into that place.
As you breathe out,
Let it soften,
Even a little.
Comparison is that quiet question running in the background.
Am I enough?
Let's answer it with kindness today.
Bring your attention to your feet.
These feet have carried you through every single day of your life.
Thank you,
Feet.
Move up to your legs.
They've walked you toward people you love and away from what no longer served you.
Thank you,
Legs.
Now your belly,
The center of you,
Has nourished you,
Held your breath,
Held your feelings.
Thank you,
Belly.
Your heart beating right now without being asked.
It has never once stopped showing up for you.
Thank you,
Heart.
Your arms and hands,
They've hugged,
Created,
Comforted,
And worked.
Thank you,
Arms and hands.
And your face,
The face that smiles at people you love,
The face that has laughed and cried and lived.
Thank you.
This body is the only one that has lived your life.
No one else's body could have carried your story.
Place one hand on your heart if that feels good.
Silently say to yourself,
I am enough.
I am enough as I am.
I am enough as I am right now.
The next time you notice yourself comparing,
And you will because you're human,
Come back to this moment.
Hand on heart.
One breath.
I am enough.
Ah,
Take a deep breath in.
And let it go.
When you're ready,
Gently open your eyes.
Welcome back.
You were always enough.
