Today is a new day.
A new beginning.
Every day you're born into this life,
As you're born into every moment.
Get into a comfortable position and close your eyes if that feels okay for you.
Become aware of your body and where it is in physical space.
Observe how it feels without judging it.
Just notice your body and any sensations.
And now bring your awareness to your breath as it flows in and flows out.
Every breath in fills you with new resolve.
And every breath out allows you to release any tension.
Exhale with a big sigh or make any other sound that needs to come out right now.
If you feel like it,
Stretch yourself.
Move in any way that feels good for you.
And then give yourself a little shake and arrive back here with me.
Yesterday is in the past and this morning you can choose to leave it behind you.
In this very moment,
You can choose to be who you want to be.
The version of yourself that feels authentic and aligned with your values,
With what's important to you in this life.
Whoever that is,
Is already within you.
You are that person.
And every moment is an opportunity to embody that.
You're a human being.
The purpose of living is to be alive.
To be.
You are enough just being.
Your value doesn't change depending on what you do.
You're not a human doing.
You're a human being.
So bring to mind a time when you felt alive.
Like yourself,
Your highest,
Most authentic self.
A moment when you felt at ease and fully in the present moment.
If you can't pick one moment,
Don't worry.
Maybe you can just sense that feeling of aliveness,
Of ease.
Soak up this feeling and whatever sensations it brings.
This is the feeling I invite you to take with you into your day.
Regardless of how much you have to do or what your day looks like.
Keep this feeling in your pocket.
And at any point,
But especially in moments of stress or frustration,
Bring to mind that moment,
That feeling of aliveness and ease.
This is your sanctuary.
The place you can always return to no matter what and just be yourself.
That's who you are,
A living being created in the image of the universe of nature.
And in nature,
Nothing is perfect in the human sense of the word.
Perfection is almost never needed.
You have strengths and flaws,
You make mistakes,
You have setbacks and doubts,
You have wins and moments of pure happiness.
Just like everybody else.
We're doing our best living in a world that has largely forgotten its roots.
Every moment is a new opportunity.
An opportunity to choose.
Choose actions that are aligned with who you want to be,
Who you are at your core.
Now turn your attention to your breath.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Following the natural rhythm of your breath,
Becoming aware of your body and where you are in physical space.
And before we finish,
Let's try a brief but rejuvenating breathing exercise,
A simple alternate nostril breathing exercise.
So ensure you're sitting with a straight but relaxed back and shoulders.
Bring your right hand to your face,
Using the thumb for the right nostril and the pinky for the left nostril.
You're going to close the right nostril with your thumb.
Inhale through the left for a count of four.
Close both nostrils with thumb and pinky.
Hold the breath for five.
And then open the right nostril and exhale for a count of eight.
And then we do it all again.
So,
Take a normal breath.
Exhale.
And then close your right nostril and inhale with the left for 2,
3,
4.
Close both nostrils,
Hold 2,
3,
4,
5.
Open the right nostril,
Exhale 2,
3,
4,
5,
6,
7,
8.
Inhale,
Right nostril,
1,
2,
3,
4.
Close both nostrils and hold,
3,
4,
5.
Open the left nostril,
Exhale 2,
3,
4,
5,
6,
7,
8 and keep going like this for a few rounds.
Great,
You can lower your arm and just take a few normal breaths.
We're going to hold the breath one last time.
So inhale to fill your stomach and lungs to about three quarters full,
And hold for as long as it's comfortable.
And when you're ready,
You can exhale with a big sigh,
Releasing everything.
If you haven't already,
You can exhale now.
Well done.
Alternate nostril breathing is said to balance the nervous system and clear any mental fog.
So it's perfect for a gentle morning practice.
And now you can shake it out gently,
Move your body in any way that feels good right now.
And if it comes,
Smile.
Smile at this moment.
Smile at the day ahead.
Like you're sitting on a mountain at sunrise,
Soaking up those morning rays,
Fresh as the dew sitting on every leaf and every blade of grass.
And when you're ready,
You can open your eyes.
And slowly come back to the room to this day.
Thank you for sharing this moment with me.
You
